sr20det O2 sensor

For starters without writing a huge story my O2 sensor on my sr20det needs to be replaced.  What are the effects of having a bad O2 sensor?  I'm guessing it causes motor to run rich becuase my spark plugs seem to be getting saturated with fuel.

My main question is what O2 sensor to use, I have searched and found that the 1987 300zx TT sensor will work.  Will any any other O2 sensors work, mine came with the universal bosch O2 sensor that I'm guessing is the same that was on the KA24, will this one work?  the part number on it is A24-620 033 13161.

i used an 02 sensor out of a nissan pathfinder i believe.  its the same sensor, cept the wires are about 5 feet longer.  all the writing on the sensor is identical though, and i've had no problems.

whatever you have, you need a 3 wire o2 i believe, the stock ka is a one wire, my s13 blacktop came with a 3 wire and it works im sure its the stock one

is that a redtop or blacktop sr20? im having problems myself finding the right O2 sensor for my s13 blacktop. I picked up the O2 sensor from the 87 or whatever 300ZX but its not the same.

Stock Ka is also a 3 wire.

I believe all nissans run on the same 2 O2 sensors. Plugs are even the same as well... check it out.

I've actually been looking for this info for quite some time. BTW the search button is a big PITA to use when searching for "O2". Sometimes thread revival is a good thing if it can actually solve an un-resolved problem and that thread is easily returned in a query.

For anyone who cares my DOHC KA had one O2 sensor with one wire. It is an S13 South Carolina car.

now that we've established the required O2 sensors for SR, i'll give you the skinny on KA O2 sensors.

88-94 (production dates) 1 one wire O2 sensor on exhaust manifold
95.1-95.6 - 1 2 wire O2 sensor on exhaust manifold, 1 1 wire O2 sensor after cat.
95.7-98.6 - 1 3 wire O2 sensor on exhaust manifold, 1 2 wire O2 sensor after cat.

The 88-94 info, i'm rock solid on. the rest i need to confirm, but it's something like that.

if you use a 87 300zx turbo o2 sensor for red top SR20 you have to rewire the plug correct? since 300zx plug is square and SR20 plug is oval

since we are bringing up old shit.

i have run 2 sr's one 63 and the other e5 without o2's and a wide band and they have run fine.

all show 55 on the consult.

both harness's have the o2 wiring completely stripped and de pinned at the the ECU
