On my KA24e the valve cover is blown and I noticed that there is a bunch of oil residue by the head and the valve cover. Im going to change it soon but do you have to use gasket marker on the valve cover? How much LB/FT of tourque do you have to use on the bolts?

you mean the valve cover gasket? yeah replace it with a oem rubber one and use rtv (gasket maker), just dont make too thick, and tighten in a star pattern so you dont warp the head, check the fsm for exact torque

I used the red RTV stuff because I didn't have time to stop by at the Nissan dealership, and RTV works just as well. Don't overtighten the valve cover bolts, they strip pretty easily. Just hand tighten with a socket wrench.
