nvm, just read the whole description...so lemme rephrase it to sound less of a prick:

-for s13: cheap as hell considering you dont need any complimentary parts

-for s14: regular price, so you might as well get nissan

like someone above posted...id let a couple guinea pigs fry first...but then again, once you think about it, hubs/bearings arent exactly rocket science...

i've seen full front/rear z32 hub/rotor/brake sets go for about this, so its not really that good of a deal (for the s14)

Okay im confused on the whole 5lug swap for an s13. Iv searched and the basics arnt laid out at least from what i have seen.

Okay, so I either need these hubs or the hubs from a s14 5 lug or hubs from a z32 right? Then what suspension componet of the s13 gets in the way? If I have the 5 lug hubs and suspension peice(whatever this may be) then all I need is the 26(90tt or z32 na) or 30mm(91+ttz) calipers, rotors and master cylinder?

what else am i missing?

It has been? because I searched for a good 30 minutes and didnt find any real clear answers, just a bunch of bs posts with stuff they installed that didnt really explain what was fully needed. I just want a list of what you need. If its asked so much then why isnt there a sticky??

god i miss the mr2 board already.

ok thats a decent price.... whats this about a suspension piece, i dont think there's clearance issues, am i wrong cus i've been told by lots of guys who've been doing this since before i was walking that its just a hassle cus then you have to upgrade the breaks and everything not to mention rims and tires... if you are gonna do z32 rear brakes make sure you splice the eBrake cables.

because we don't have stickies. we have a whole FAQ section instead. on the first page there are three 5lug swap threads alone.

but this is probably the one you're looking for.

we're not like mr2 owners. our cars are easier to work on. to balance it out, our community is more assholish. welcome.

haha yes mr2oc.

Its weird, no other forum I post on is as good. I think its something to do with the market for 240's or even hondas, shit even fc/fd's.

The thing about them is they are all cheaper base cars, so you get a lot of kids buying them, way to many people posting that dont know what the fuck they are talking about. With the mr2's, at least with the turbo's they are fairly expensive and there isnt a shit load of them floating around, lot more older techie engineer dudes that post, so basically every post on the tech section is fairly in depth with tons of research. Im not doubting there arnt a lot of smart guys that own 240's, but fuck you have to weed through a shit load of idiots to get to the posts or get a response from them. Much like the rx7 boards, fc's are usually cheap so kids buy them, kids are usually idiots who dont know anything about cars and fd's are expensive, a lot of them owned by rich guys that pay for there work, so its a complete opposite, and even if the rx7 guys know whats going on they dont want to tell anyone else because everyone seems to be more assholish than the mr2 guys.

Sadly it will eventually prolly make me go back to a mk2 turbo. The community, cars and people are all setup so much nicer, plus I work at toyota.

anyways, got a pm from someone that told me the list, thanks guys

I just ordered a set for $440 shipped, there is a deal going on at NICO. Its just too good of a price to pass up, and much easier then ordering attains, getting longer studs, and trying to find rear hubs with good bearings. Hopefully it will turn out to be a good deal, ill keep you guys updated.

Nick, if other peoples cars and the people is your primary concern, you should go back to your MR2. Don't buy a 240sx , don't even think about owning one. In your statement you have made yourself sound like a bandwagon jumper, just like the kids, or cars you so despise.
If that is so, and your not really a true fan of the car, then you should not own one. I do not base my ownership of the car on who does or doesn't own one. Nor, do I base it on how nicely modded someone elses is.
I own my car because I like it, period. I don't own my car based on its popularity. If I did, I would have been driving a BMW a long time ago, hahhahhaha.
I own it, based on the fact thats its a damn amazing car for the money and kicks some major ass when setup right.
I.E. its vastly underrated, including being looked down the nose at by MR2 owners. I applaud you for your open mindedness on it, but again take you to task, for the sake of not seeming to really want it, for the sake of what it is. More, it seems like you want it because its popular. I could be wrong but your post reads that way.

400 is an awesome price for a full S13 conversion. attain/gto front hubs alone are $350-400, rear n/a z32 hubs run around $150, extended studs another $60-100.
i called them today and they had some redesign issues - they wanted to make them beefier for track use

Whiplash Willy
03-24-2006, 04:14 PM
I wonder if that means the ones that are currently shipping are weak and can't stand up to track use. Do you have any more details on this redesign n2?

i wonder what bearings they're using on those, since they don't look like OEM. the rear carrier looks like a different casting

Whiplash Willy
03-27-2006, 04:59 PM
They say on their website, and when i talked to the guy they are OE bearings. But since OE bearings are about $100-$150 a pair for front and rear only, its hard to belive the would be using OE bearings and making any kind of a profit, unless they have some major discount going on.

The hubs are apparently being shipped again, and of course they estimate another 3-4 weeks....thats if they don’t get stuck in customs AGAIN for another month or so. It is really annoying...I have been waiting for over 2 months now. It is possible it isn't the company's fault, but I am starting to wonder. If you can't get through by email call them up. I have called them 5 times, and always get through. Ask for Blair.

After waiting for these for over 2 months, I have had enough, and canceled my order. Intense power was really good about canceling the order so that was nice atleast. I took CKAMCs advice and gave caliente auto a call and talked to John. He was nice and helpful. I placed an order for $435 shipped and got an order confirmation and tracking number an hour later. FedEX says they will arrive 6/17....I wish I would have done this weeks ago!

I am going to try and keep more active with Zilvia and maybe convince the boss to advertise here as well. I saw those 5 lugs about 4 weeks ago when he first got them and they looked very nice... hell looked like the OEM s14 5lugs!! let us know how things go when they arrive.

if anything I would pop open and regrease the bearings, usually non OEM bearings aren't greased as well as OEM so they fail sooner and you need to buy more replacements. I'm wondering what the knurl is on these china made ones, hopefully ARP/Peak/Nismo studs will all be compatible.

CKAMC
06-16-2006, 09:57 AM
Those hubs are not china made, R&D in new york and made in germany. I believe they do come with peak performance studs but you would need to talk to john.

Well I got the hubs and they look pretty good from what I can tell. They look to be the same as the more expensive Ichiba and Peak Performance hubs. I wouldn't be surprised if they all came from the same manufacture. I am impressed so far. I am going to try to put them in in the next few days. Ill take some pics and let you know how it goes.

My friend and I installed them after work about a week back. I have been driving on them since then, and really like them. The only problem we ran into, is the dust cap on the front hubs don't fit. We just cut 4 slits on the inner lip, and were able to put them in. Only time will tell about how good the bearings are...but I am pretty confident they will be just fine.
