loudest car possible?

it may sound weird to most, but im looking to turbo my ka and i want it to be the loudest i can make it, while still conforming to all laws( except volume laws, fuck those), im trying to find the loudest cat back system and turbo parts such as a BOV.  i would like this car to be incredibly loud, but i need to be able to pass emissions.its kind of hard to explain why i want a loud car, but i guess i do have my reasons, so if anyone has any opinions, please let me know

haha I think I had the loudest 240 here at one point. I messed up reinstalling my exhaust and I had to drive to a muffler shop with no cat back just running straight from the headers (aftermarket), haha I remember I didnt rev it past 3k cause I was seriously afraid the windows might break.

connect a cat directly onto the exhaust outlet of the turbo.

for now, just remove your exhaust manifold for the loudest sound possible.

a friend of mine has a turboXS bov and you can hear it from a mile away.

The loudest exhaust I can think of would be the HKS Titanium Racing Hiper Exhaust.

Though not full Ti this is what it consists of.

It is NOT a catback but a down pipe back exhaust....that means it replaces your catalytic converter also.

It is 4" stainless steel piping from the catback to a Titanium canister and tip.

Do not get this confused with HKS' other Hiper Exhaust like the CF Ti one....the Ti Racing is 4" not 3" piping and is downpipe back. &nbsp; Lots of people confuse the two since the canisters look similar.

Of course this exhasut comes with a HUGE price.....you're looking at about $1200 for this one.

run straight pipe from manifold with a huge single tip muffler... use 2.5 in pipe st8 to a dunk style muffler. &nbsp;my friend did it with a celica and its the loudest car ive heard..

I agree with Rotary Knight... If you are looking for just an exhaust to be loud, and don't plan on going to a muffler shop and have the rest of your system customized... I recomend the HKS Titanium. My friend just got one for his 240 and its rediculously loud. We can't here his stereo over the exhaust when he didn't have the optional silencer in. It's also very deep, not like many of the exhaust you're used to seeing on Civics that just sound like a baby crying (depending on which one you get,your BOV should supply someone of that sound). If you want a noticeable sound, just get a deep exhaust that isn't too loud, and then a big turbo and strong release blow off valve. I have another friend with a HKS blow off valve on his 1996 Mitsu Ecclipse GSX, and that shit sounds like a banshee

Theres a friend i have in Ct with the "Rocket" exhaust for the S13. &nbsp;He doesn't have any mods (i think?) except that, and its the loudest car I've ever heard, by far. &nbsp;Harley's are still the loudest tho. &nbsp;(maybe dragsters too, but I was talking about street machines.)

cut a rectangular hole in your hood, mount header upside down...Run pipe straight out of your hood. &nbsp; Should be quite loud...may even produce some colorful flames.

I would think the higher gas velocity that comes out of the pipe would create the loudest sound... bigger pipe is deeper tho.. &nbsp;smaller would sound wimppy..

I dont think a rectangular hole would help.

AHAH yea true...loud does not mean fast..........though fast cars are loud. &nbsp;Even turbo cars are loud especially when you have a WG dumping out to atmosphere.

an N/A rotary w/ just headers and nothing else is about as loud as you can get. i dont think they like running like this(N/A rotaries appearently like a certain amount of back pressure). do this, put on ear plugs, then some of those big ear muff things the workers on the airport jetways have to wear, and rev your engine to 12k till it pops! see how many firetrucks show up...

If you want the loudest car possible get a FC or FD RX7 Throw a 3" Exhaust on there Straight from the Front pipe down and you will have the loudest car possible. All I have to say is Scott Surfis car club Motion Red FC Loud as hell. His car will make your heart stop.

Nope FD with the HKS Ti 4" piping from the front pipe back. &nbsp;Let's put it this way Pete's FD from XS had that exhaust and the thing was so loud it would trip off his knock sensor. DoH!

AS far as turboing the ka it is legal all you have to do is make sure the manufature tells you that it is legal.I have talked to several mechanics and they tell me that is what alot of people do to their ka's.Thenthere are some that have the sr20 that is not legal at all to have on the streets.But shoot from what i got with my cold air intake the injen cae is not leagon on roads either cus it has no carb number yet it is ment for off roads.

Actually any manufacture has to show the the turbo kit has gone through it's CARB certification. &nbsp;It will be a false claim if they just tell you it's legal and it has not gone through certification. &nbsp;Also no smog shop is going to just take your word that something is legal..they have way too much to lose if they pass you and it isn't. &nbsp;That is why GReddy and HKS take so long to come out with their street leagal kits.

1. the car that it is tested on must have a certain number of miles..
2. then the car must be driven xxxxx miles
3. then the car will test for emissions
4. it costs money

From what I know there are NO CARB legal KA turbo kits out there.

If its going on a turbo car then I would say any Apexi/5Zigen style with 3". Its going to depend more so on your turbo you have on the car. I had my HKS 2510 BB turbo with my HKS Dual Dragger on my KA and it was completely silent, then I replaced my turbo to the HKS 3037 BB turbo and it turned into a constant deep tone that people felt inside homes <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

leave the cat , get a header, straight pipe it from the cat back , to a really low restrictive glasspack muffler, trust me it will be loud

if you want the loudest muffler, get 3in downpipe and 3in pipe all the way to the muffler, no cat, best combination with apex n1 turbo universal muffler. This can hurt you ears if you stand next to the muffler and this can wake up everybody in your town.
