I have heard that you can swap in an exhuast cam for the intake cam and it gives you a little more power. If this is the case i have a spare motor laying around and i will swap in the exhaust cam. Has anyone done this that could chime in and let me know how easy it is and how benificial it really is. How hard is it to swap the cams, thanks ahead of time.

Is it possible to use the cam from a 92 motor? Or does it not give any power. Also, how hard is it to pull out a cam and put another one in?

I dont know if the 92 will work, I've not heard of it. I know the 91 will,
It's not to hard to change the cam, Make sure the cam tops go back in in the same order they came out in, and in the same direction. Mark the timing chain. MARK EVERY THING!!!
You have to be at top dead center, the #1 cam lobes need to point away from each other to be in ''T.D.C.'' Your new cam needs to be 4 chain links to the left. check the link I already sent, it explanes it vary well.

Jut to clarify...forget what you read on 240SX.org...the '91 cams are NOT the only "hot" cams.

'91 to late-93 are the good ones (240/248).

Late '93-'94 and S14 cams are the same (232/232).

If your motor has the secondary intake butterflies, you have the 'good' cams.

Just an FYI...

Yes, you can use the cam out of your 92 motor. I did this swap in my 97 KA (248/232) and it gave a noticeable amount of power on the top end. I'm guessing you're planning on swapping this on another s13 motor? If so, that's the 248/248 setup, so you'll sacrifice a little low end but it'll scream on the top end. Read up on the "roating 4 teeth" method to line up the exhaust cam in the intake side.

4 teeth CCW...just to be clear.

LOL, good call man, dunno what I was thinking... been a while. This link as pretty helpful for the actual install: http://jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/CAM%20INSTALL%20INST%20FOR%20KA24DE.PDF

Yes, you rotate the cam sprocket 4 teeth ccw... there was some confusion in posts when I was researching this earlier this year as to what was being referenced when "rotating" because you could also rotate the chain 4 links CW, and leave the sprocket where it was. However, its alot easier to rotate the sprocket, because it will make the cam lobes lay flat like < >, so its easier to torque down the cam towers without having to fight the valve springs
