I used to be all into the FF's and all the games square made.. I loved Final fantasy tactics as well (Kinda like chess for the FF's)..

Also someone's avatar reminded me of the Mega man series.. Number 3 was my favorite.. I used to spend counteless hours playing that game !

those who voted for Chrono Trigger being one of the best RPG's ever made are completely correct. There will never be another game that can come close to it.

And thanks to Marz for bringin up the Resident Evil series. I nearly shat myself playing the first game when the dogs crashed through the windows! Silent Hill freaked me out waaaaaaaaay too much. The movie looks DOPE!!!

Oh yeah for 3 player fun my friends and I would go to town and stay up all night playing GENERAL CHAOS for the Genesis. Such an awesome game.

btw, Nintendo announced today at GDC that not only will there be a download service to download and play all Nintendo generation systems (NES, SNES, N64, GC, etc) it will also offer GENESIS/Megadrive and Turbo Graffx-16(PC Engine) library as well!

BF: 1942 DCF.

It's all about either an M25 headshot on a running enemy from a parachute at 150 yards or a edge-of-visual (so like 500 yard or something) M82 headshot.

BF2 SUCKS for snipers. I live for sniping, so I never got into BF2. Sweet ghillies though...

You have yet to name a category that FFT beats CT in.

For the record
- music
- gameplay
- replay value (13 or some odd endings)
- playable characters (not just classes... nameless people... actual characters that you care about and affect the outcome of the game)
- storyline (beats FFT by 543986954806)
- battle system (and the team attacks, woo woo)

CT was the RPG that didnt "feel" like an RPG, coupled with the other elements above, make it the best RPG ever, and way better than FFT.

Playing games on a computer = meh. Even with a control pad. There's just something about having it on the tube...

Not to mention the fact that emulators arent perfect, and cant play every game out there (SFX games come to mind).

The fact that you said the storyline of CT is way better than FFT just turns your whole argument to dust, along with the battle system being better (lol). FFT is more of a strategy game as opposed to it being an RPG, but it's still the better game. I'll agree that CT might be better than any other FF game...but FFT is just too deep and detailed.

I can accept koukidough's response of "MORE FUN" since that is a preference issue.

Even though i haven't played both.. What i really liked from FFT was that it was long but i like long cause it makes me feel like i didn't get ripped off ... It's not really "long" as in drawn out/boring long.. It was just how the story went. Also there wasn't really a point to where all my players just seemed to dominate over the competition (like most ff's)... It seems like the stronger you get the stronger the computer got also.. I remember that's what killed the fun for me and FF7 (my old fav) and FFX.. It's not even challenging anymore unless you start all over...

Collecting all the "secret" weapons were the best part of tactics for me.. Just cause it was something else to challenge me on and take time (Which again I like)... FF7/10 also had this which was cool, and challenging.. I got them all for ff7 FF10 was just too hard to get everyones "special" weapon (Kimahri's= forget about it !)..

Last thing that i loved about Tactics what the whole "chess board" affect. I've never seen that in any other FF game and i think that's the reason why i loved it.. It wasn't tradition, and in a lot of the battles that's exactly what i reminded me of (Chess) cause different characters have a set amount of where they can go and what they can do... If you are in the wrong place you get jacked.. It always seemed you had to look 2 to 3 steps ahead to make sure you're moving in the right spot to attack/defend.. That aspect made it more challenging/fun for me.

dude your right, I bought WoW when it was first launched. WoW took 3 months of my life before I even realized it. Once I got to lvl 60 paladin I got bored and got off WoW. I probably would have sticked with WoW if they capped the lvl to around 100 maybe? But then if I hit that I'd get bored again.

Both CT and FFT are classics. I thought FFT's story was pretty interesting, probably a little more than CT's in terms of some depth to it. But they are both great games that will probably still be enjoyable even once we have ps5.

I admit, I hated final fantasy when it first came out due to the layout of the whole game. But after finding out the game was rare, I snatched it up the second I found it. Once I started playing it I was hooked. It's one of my fav tactical rpg's.

But it isn't as good as CT.

Sorry man, FFT isnt anything special -- its basically Ogre Battle with "Final Fantasy" on the cover instead of "Ogre Battle."

Oh yeah for 3 player fun my friends and I would go to town and stay up all night playing GENERAL CHAOS for the Genesis. Such an awesome game.

Hell yeah!!! That's pretty much the only game I used to play with my friend on Genesis. That thing was so addicting.

definately check out Front Mission: Gun Hazard. Its a spiritual successor to Assault Suits Valken/Cybernator. Made by the same developers, but its a side story of the Front Mission series. Think Cybernator + Metal Warriors + RPG elements of a Front Mission game and you have yourself the best 2d side scroller mech games ever. You can level up your mechs, obtain new mechs, customize weapons, etc.
