Just talked to an importer this morning who was trying to sell me on the Greddy Type-S coilovers. He didnt have the Tanabe Pro Seven that I wanted in stock. I know that these aren't a big coilover set-up in the states cause they really havent been shipped over yet. The importer told me they are getting bigger In Japan. I have seen them for the 350Z/G35 and other makes. Just wondering what your opinions are....Wondering about the reveiws for drifting......

Key Features:

* Full length adjustable ride height.
* 32 way Adjustable Dampening.
* Mono Tube shock design with a 46mm piston for quick reacting dampening and increased rigidity.
* Strengthened Rubber Bushing Upper Mounts & Billet Brackets (10mm)
* Lightweight High-Grade steel Coil Springs

This is from a website:

Adjustable Spherical Bearing Upper Mounts Standard equipment on vehicles equipped with front struts are adjustable pherical bearing (pillowball) upper mounts. The thick 10mm aluminum upper plates are precisely marked by secure and accurate camber adjustments. While the use of replaceable spherical bearings add extended life and cost effectiveness to the system.

Strengthened Rubber Bushing Upper Mounts & Billet Brackets For non-strut type applications, a thick 33mm strengthened rubber bushings on sturdy 10mm billet aluminum upper mount and lightweight billet aluminum brackets are used. This offers both exceptional noise reduction and very controllable handling profile.

So Yes...DO come with PillowBall

I would post a pic of it but I can't figure out how to do it....If you know how tell Me...

maybe it's just me, but that looks like a knock-off.

I'm not saying it is... but since when does GReddy make anything that looks so poorly advertised? Looks like some guy making his first webpage did the layout for that ad it's terrible... and yet, I cannot dispute the fact that it's on the official GReddy website.

I'm a little unclear on the coloring tho, Looks like a HKS product, or maybe Buddy Club as far as coloring goes... since when are greddy parts not blue? Making stuff blue/silver is kinda their thing... Seems like another case of rebadging to me... but then, if GReddy is willing to slap their name on this product, it must be decent right? (Famous last words)

If I was you I would really think about it. Getting a knock-off for the main suspension part might not be good in the long run. I know that coilovers can get expensive but the high-end brands are worth it. I'm going with Cusco Zero 2. Go with a brand that has a well-built shock with it. That's my experience with coilovers.

i seen some in shops in my area, people like it but i think they like it just cause it s a greddy. unless someone has something good to say about it from first hand experience, i would stay away from it.

these are nice and are pretty lightweight, i work at greddy here in nj, we have a couple still in stock. the almost look like gp sports gr-6's, being that gp sports and greddy are pretty close. these came out less than two months ago, pick them up from any authorized greddy dealer :p

So are these GReddy R&D'd/manufactured then?
NOT just a rebadging? Dubious...

They look suspicously, to me , like a rebadge. Given that Greddy has never been in the suspension side of things, I would say they are probably a rebadge.
Another line of suspension, thats an unknown quality, just to muck things up more.

My thoughts exactly...

but at least GReddy is a big name with good products and service attached to their rep... I don't think they'd put their name on something they weren't willing to backup.

Like you said Dave, they've never been real focused on the suspension area, seems like they're just tapping a market they're behind in, due to the popularity boom brought by drifting and increased attendance at auto events across the board... my guess would be that this is an interim product, rebadged from someone else, but of acceptable quality/performance.... a temp. solution to net some sales before releasing their own homegrown product... kinda like what Honda did when they saw that they were getting destroyed in the SUV dept. some years back... they didn't have a mid-size SUV product, so they comandeered the Isuzu Rodeo, had Subaru assemble it, and slapped their name on it, giving them enough time to R&D/Manufacture the Pilot, an argueably better vehicle. Pure speculation, but that's what I'd do if I were in GReddy's shoes... grassroots import motorsports have evolved far past just drag racing civics on cut springs and oem dampers (thank god), the bar has been raised, which means a new market has emerged, seems greddy is just making up for lost time (read as: sales).

I'll be anxiously awaiting a 2nd gen product :)

I think those are fake because in the recent option magazine there is a ad of greddy coilovers but most of those parts of the coilover in anodized blue, not purple. Maybe its probaly just different designs because Trust and Greddy are the same company but they make mostly the same stuff for JDM market and US market. Example there exhaust series we dont have the Beat MAX of the Ti composite, thats only available in japan. So I guess its like that with there suspension stuff too.

if you were looking into the tanabe 7s but they weren't in stock. wtf would you go with these over the 7s. 7s are far superior and will have very low adjustability. Wait for the 7s.

I don't think we're arguing if they're fake, they're on the GReddy site and some GReddy ppl have already acknowledged that they are a new product... we're wondering whether or not they are rebadged.

There's a world of difference between fake and rebadged.

Greddy makes all parts in house except there turbos right? Wouldnt you expect a big company like greddy to make there own crap? Doesnt tanabe uses KYB for there coilovers and shocks? I never really knew that big names like Greddy and tanabe used other companys for there help in makeing parts.

dude Rick, did u read my post?

Go back and read the 1st one, that's just one idea. There's lots of reasons... most of them monetarily driven; they are a business after all, they don't have to be self-less, that's not their goal.

Besides, there's lots of companies that rebadge things.
I don't have a prob with it as long as the company is willing to stand behind their product.
