There will be a post in the hopefully near future about the magical crap that is DA Performance, but for the purpose of this post, let me sommerize.  On March 4th (plus or minus a few days) DA Performance, more specifically April Seaton, cashed a check for $5400.  The check was for a 1989 240sx Fastback and it was to have a red top SR, 300zx limited slip, Centerforce DF clutch, 300ZX fuel pump, and a couple of other little things installed.  The tentative date for completion was April 5th.  In short, they're not done yet, it's June 18th.  They subcontracted the work out to another shop who we've been speaking with over the past month or so.  DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH DA PERFORMANCE.  Again there will be another post detailing the last 4 months of hell I've been through, including the lines of BS I've been given, but let's get on to why I'm posting this.  In short, I'm so incredibly disappointed with the crap I've been through, that I'm probably going to want to sell the car when I get it to rid myself of anything that would remind me of the past 4 months.  So what do you think I could get for the car (asuming the body and engine are in good condition, i.e. no rust on the body), and ho much would I have to spend to get an S14 in good condition with less than 100,000 miles?  The philosophy is that since I've bought a crotch rocket, my car doesn't need to be as fast as it did before, and I can concentrate more on having a nicer, newer car, with good looks and a good stereo, but still with potential.  Thanks.

hmm...  $5400 sounds like a reasonable price to expect for the car.  If it is clean inside and out as well as having the other stuff you said.

are you sure, I remember a similar car from Heavy Throttle going for $7,700 on ebay.  What price should I expect for S14 with under 100,000 miles for do you think, to buy?

Sorry to hear about your troubles...
the 1989 240sx has little value except to an enthusiast. NADA, Kelley BB, and JD Power beat up these cars with extreme predudice... Remember it is 13 years old, which plays havoc on resale values...even with a red-top sr.
My best estimate is $4,500 USD. Assuming it is in great shape.
sorry,
