hey guys wuts up, ok idk wut this could be but everytime im about to stop at a light or stop sign my rpms drop all the way down until the car turns off instead of it dropping down to 1000rpm and staying there. and when it doesn't turn off it stays at 500rpm its annoying the car shakes like crazy.sometimes when rpms are at 500 i push the clutch down and the rpms rise to 1000. also in cold or hot weather when i first start da car the rpms are rising to like 2500-3000rpm. is it the idle setting or spark plugs? any help i can get on this it will appreciated.
THANKS!!!

Check all of your vacume hoses, A leak can caus an iratic idle.

Check the IACV might be dirty and check all connections (Coolant Temp. & Maf Sensor) sometimes if dirty/loose will cause similar problems

It could be quite a few things. Here are a few random things to test/try:

Pull codes from ECU
Replace plugs (gap to 1mm) NGK BKR5E11's iirc
Check & replace plug wires
Replace dist. cap
Replace dist rotor
Unplug TPS & try to adjust idle to 650rpm using the idle screw
While TPS unplugged check timing (make sure it is 20 BTDC). Replug TPS
Remove MAF & clean with "throttle body cleaner"
Clean IACV by removing or by squirting cleaner down vac hose
Check all vac hoses for leak
Check intake pipe/clamps for leak
Run some injector cleaner thru your tank of gas
Replace fuel filter
Check/replace air filter

I'm going through a similar thing with my KA and it's weird how many little problems you'll find & repair that don't seem to make any difference on the one problem you're trying to fix (bad idle)... Engine performance increases but the random miss or stumble is still there. grr....

Drop by my "KA24DE missing at idle" thread for a few more ideas:

My car had the same exact symptoms as yours. Start with replacing the cap and rotor, then sparkplugs. I'm pretty sure that's your problem.

If the wires cap and rotor work , let us know, I know someone else who is having a similar problem! Good luck
