I've had my turbo kit @5.5 psi for 1 month. I changed oil today , and only had 1.5 qt's left!!!!! I was using the regular 10w-30. I think if I change to 10-40 it might help . My Question is if 10-40 is still burnin up fast is it safe to use 20-50 Any one with similar problem???

Hey guy. Are you sure you're burning oil? You could tell if you burnt 2.5 quarts, cuz there would be smoke billowing out of your exhaust. 1 drop of burning oil will smoke a lot... 2.5 quarts is.... smokescreen-ish.
There could be a bad leak somewhere, possibly in a line, or fitting. When my car was under warranty, I had them replace my front main seal, cuz I lost a quart of oil between changes... and they said it was pretty common for the main seal to blow. I'd look for leaks...
Burning oil would be detrimental to your wallet, as it means you have bad rings, or a scorred cylinder that allows oil to blow by. Or a bad seal in your turbo. I would also be wary of running that low with a turbo... cuz it seems you should have seen that comming if you had the right gauges... oil temp and oil pressure. The temp would have skyrocketed as you lost oil, cuz there is less to absorb the heat, and your pressure would have been low too.
Check for leaks, then check the turbo... then the internals.

GO under neath the car and check if u can see any leaks and areas where oil is spilling out.

also, take off the hot ic pipe from the turbo and look and feel to see if oil has gone through the bearing and into the compressor. might want to check the turbine side also.u can pull out your o2 sensor to check this

Look for obvious visual leaks first. Chances are if it is dumping that much oil, you will see a leak whether it be from the turbo or the block. If that doesn't check out, do a compression check. It will tell you various things about the condition of your motor. You should do one anyways. If compression seems low, trickle a few drops of oil down the spark plug gallery and test again. The oil helps "seal" a potentially shitty ring. If the compression goes back up.....Perhaps your piston rings are shot and oil is leaking into the combustion chamber causing the oil burn. If it doesn't go back up, then you could have worn valve assembly causing a poor seal. Have you checked your plugs? Are they covered in black shit?

Mike, d00d that sucks . You only had 1.5 quarts left? Did you change the oil after the meet in Chicago? At this point, you definitely should do a compression AND leak-down test. But before that, pop off your hot pipe and check for oil getting by your turbo. Let's hope that it's just the turbo seal and that internally, your engine survived unscathed. Do you have any sort of warranty on the turbo? It's XS, right?
