Ive been having an argument for awhile on how exhaust application is determined. A friend of mine is complaining that no reputable companies make an exhaust system for his car (05' Lancer Ralliart). My understanding is that the muffler/canister can be used on any car and the piping would be what makes the system applicable to that one car. For example, If i owned a car that didnt have a exhaust system made for it, I could purchase say an Apexi N1 muffler and then have 2.5 or 3inch piping run custom. His argument is that the whole system (including the muffler/canister) is made car specific:loco: (which sounds ludicrous to me cause that would mean 1000s of different canisters). I told him he could buy any canister from any company and just have his piping run custom. Whether Im right or not wont matter because he wont listen either way but id like to know for myself because its driving me nuts.

Just tell him the reason they dont make an exhaust for it is cuz its a POS car. Tell him to grow some balls buy a real EVO.

are you real having an arguement with a person who thinks they know cars and drive a lancer (not a evo). Think of that real quick and then analyze, does he really know cars especially modifying one.

If he did, he wouldnt have bought a Lancer.

Agree with above, dont hang out with her ( I said her, because he need to grow some balls and get an evo)

Why on EARTH would anyone buy a Lancer Ralliart?

What do those sell for, like $19k? You could get a new EP3 Si Hatch or a Spec V for that, or a used S2000 or WRX.
