Look at the first 2 movies. there were only 1 civic and 1 integra. See what it did to the honda community?
240sx are cheap to own and cheap to drift. S14 are rare enough, I can see the prices going up for these cars. S13 doesn't have a chance tho. Look at the price value for the damn AE86.

i am film major at UCI and i think this movie targeted the wrong group with the wrong messages....Movies are powerful, and people are going to misinterpert many messages.
1. Drifters like us don't drift on the streets...so the movie fucked drifting up, imagine now what people are gonna think about sports of driftin....
2. The target audience is the younger kids, and that will mess kids up when they can drive
3. The cars are too ugly, and that's fucked up
4. crashes and street racing, again, tuners and car lovers will now face police aggression to a extreme degree.....sad
5. the drifting seems so unrealistic... playing with the speed of the film really doesn't help anything.

Anyways, I hated when i see hollywood films mess up the image of drifters, i am just pissed right now

i remember reading a thread about this movie a few months back and a lot of the posts were saying that they would not go see it and it would be terrible. i know ill go see it and hope it won't be terrible.

i think i read somewhere that rj de vera was involved in the making of the film which would explain a lot of the veilside and the fact that they used veilside in the first movies. they just tried to go for the eye catching cars (350z, rx8, etc.) that will make all the people who know nothing about drifting go oohh and aahh when they watch it. the general audience doesn't want to see some 8-21 (kouki s14-corolla gt-s) year old cars sliding around, it wouldn't be as impressive in their minds.

it is gauranteed that the prices of our cars will sky-rocket but all we can do is either ride it out or sell high. isn't that the principles of business "buy low, sell high".

i really want to know what the story is for this one and how they are going to explain that hick (i am from nebraska i am qualified to say that) being in japan.

I ended up buying a 1989 Supra, but I watched with envy when MKIV Supra prices went through the roof fter the first movie. In 1999 (pre-F&F), you could have bought a 1993 Supra Turbo for $12 to $16K. Good luck finding a 1993 turbo for that TODAY -- 7 years later.

This movie will have a similar effect on the S13 & S14 -- especially hooked up ones. But since our cars had pretty big production numbers, I doubt they will spike as hard or maintain as long as the Toyota...

I think this one will be better than the first two flicks. The F&F (Point Break rip-off) is still fun to watch though: Motec system exhaust, etc. 2F&2F was an unwatchable Miami Vice rip-off with lame product placement. John Singleton? WTF were they thinking!

thats it I'm selling the 240, and buying a diesel vw. I'm just going to give up on having a cheap & fun car. First high gas prices start to ruin the fun, now everytime I stop at a light I'm going to have some teenage punk pull up next to me and dare me into a drift race (whatever that is). :duh:

Hah hah.. I was thinking the same thing.. It'll only be a matter of time though before f&f 4 comes out (Too fast too dirty/too rainy/too snowy) where the main feature will be rally racing and AWD's will get hit just like the FWD/RWD crowd. It'll glorify the "magic" behind having AWD and making the scenes to where AWD can "Magically" make any driver into a rally racing champ:P

If the prices on 240sx in general will go up, prices on hondas will drop, I suppose honda can be good, after taking the rice off of it, adding turbo, it will get better grip off the line, not handle better though, but maybe some of you 240 guys can sell your 240 for 6k, or so you suppose, if thats the case, then get a dirt cheap honda, turbo it/performance upgrades, they are pretty good cars, its just the ricers give them bad name, not that I like them, just my .2c
