Ok Altimont is going to be off the chains.

We are trying to figure out if pre registration will be needed.
Please take this thread seriously and post up if you are actually attending.

Also post up if you will be bringing friends, or if your just coming to watch.

Also post up i fyour planning to compete later that night.


There will also be some prizes to give away, some vendors, food, drinks, drifting, a possible car show, and alot of fun.

And on the days we would get done with the comp early. we would have practice after.

my access was limited and i didn't wanna push my luck by being there in the first place. This track looks awesome! No more inside walls! plenty of room and smooth blacktop. I talked to a worker and he said there's more work to be done (lights, etc.) and it probably won't be done for the May 6 opening. Worth the wait!

Ok guys here is some news from ncda reguarding some issues with altamont. We have recieved multiple complaints from the neighbors that people have been drifting on the streets, and racing, before and after our events. One such person leaving a event proceeded to crash through a neighbors fence and some cattle got away. We are not taking this lightly this year, and anyone caught on the altamont property exceeding the posted 10mph speed limit, or driving improperly will be detained until the police arrive and be black listed from altamont motorsports park. In addition Altamont has been contacted by the local hwy patrol for a scedule of our events. We believe there will be under cover cars in the area. Please pass this information on to the appropreate people.

Come on guys. Tell any of your friends coming that if they act stupid we may all pay the price. Lets show the racing community that we are not a bunch of stupid ricers.

But if someone does do anything stupid, I believe that they should get what they deserve.

Be on your best behavior the first few events. Because that will set the mood for the neighbors and chp. If the event starts off crazy, then cops will always be there and you will be more prone to being popped.

I have always been worried about my stuff being stolen while I am driving. I bring a bike lock for my spare wheels and just hope no one takes my cheap Kragen tools that I bring.

If cops really are waiting, hopefully we will see some social darwinism in action. All the thugs and ricers that show up will get picked up by their own idiot actions while the rest of us drive home safely.

Thats good to hear. When I lived in San Diego, they had street leagal drag racing at Qualcomm, in part sponsored by the police. It was cool because even though the police knew most of the imports there where not legal, no one got messed with. The whole point was for these people to be able to have some ligit racing. Hopefully we can have the same deal.
Maybe the NCDA staff at the gate can make mention of the police presence and the NCDA/Altamont zero tolerance policy twards ricers. Hopefully that will help a little.

hey luke, do you know if the tech inspections will be the same system used at the end of last season? or will inspections be more strict due to the new ownership (of the track).

Yea i will be more strict on the tech. Make sure you have all your lugnuts, no stripped studs, no leaks, and have your battery tied down, with terminals taped up.

its hard to tell.... seeing how the track has been re-done and labeled "drift land" by Dunit might have blown it up... MY best guess... season opener will have the most attendence maybe even maxed out (that would kinda suck, less track time) later on more into the season there will be less people... and again the last event will have a large attendance

Last year around FEB, there were lots of people sitting out and just chiling cause there were SO MUCH track time. Towards the middle/end of the season it started to get crowded as it became more popular. Mind you, this is when the pavement was uneven(turn one) and had a huge dip. Now that it's gone, more people will balls up and join in on the new track.

Pictures say it is a badass track. Lets just hope if it becomes too HOT, someone with the power can open up a weekend event.
