Wow, look at all that rust on the radiator and the front of the engine.

Makes me hot to see them rust.

THat rust is a sign of a efficent cooling system in that machine.

is it me or does it look like they just used the exhaust manifolds and just swapped them from side to side?

the engine looks like it needs serious attention. Even if the engine is not all that great its still a pretty nice chassis. If you fix that V8 i would definently look into getting a fuel injection setup and working on the intake manifold.

probably did, but if it works, why not?

Definitly needs converted to fuel injection, i bet tuning that thing was a nightmare.

Carbs with turbos are not a "tuning nightmare" at all. It's pretty common and supposedly easy to tune. Gale Banks recommended that setup to me about a certain friend's 6 cyl. (old, domestic).

Yeah, it looks like a straight bucket, and clearly needs a LOT of work..

It's just a fun thought, I don't think I'd actually go through with it.

Now, if I had a garage and more money.. I probably would. hahahha

I've actually been considering doing something similar to my S14. I've got a bored and stroked all forged low compression 5.0L block that is collecting dust waiting to go in my '66. Of course, it's a roller, fuel injected engine and would definitely be a 5 or 6 speed.

Seems to me, if you wanted to go through with a swap like that, you'd want to take the time to clean it up a bit. The Auto and carb kill it for me. But still... some props for actually doing that kind of swap.

If it goes for a reasonable ammount, why not take a shot. You can always Megasquirt it and swap to EFI and manual.

nothing wrong with an old auto....You non chevy/ford guys forget or never knew that the old autos were built MUCH differently than our shitty/yet comfy modern day autos.

An old auto can be BUILT very well for 1000 to 1500. Meaning strong as hell, and equally fast to shifting a 5spd.

^but the control isnt there. Sure you can go straight just fine, but keeping the revs up at corner entry and using engine compression to help slow the car down are very important. I wouldnt want to be in a 3rd gear drift in that car and have it go to 5th and me die...... I'll end up in the mud again....lol art...

All I can say is yuk.......
It isn't modern. It looks like dog crap, the weight distribution on that thing must be horrible.
Bad karma to put a FORD V8 into a JDM......

good luck on getting a griffin Rad, i tried, but i had to donate a kidney, kill 10 random people and wait 6 months to get on the list to possibly order one from griffen. and no one stocks them for the S14s.

I bet you're also one of those clowns that thinks putting a V8 into a RX7 is a bad idea.

You add nothing to this discussion, dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I agree that EFI would be ideal instead of a fuel leak, I mean, carbs, but I can see why he decided to go carbs (less wiring to deal with).

Perhaps I should just hold off and get a LS1. hahaha :P

EFI for sure. That engine needs some serious love, but at least the body looks ok.

He may just be a purist... you may forget that he knows his shit. and c'mon... that motor does look like crap and is probably iron-block too hahaha

and it's quite possible that he hates Ford and is a Chevy guy.

anyway... go LS1. sell me your sr in the meantime

Actually I'm not a clown if you know me and what I know and what I do.
Secondly I like blu808's chevy LS-1 swap on his RX7, I hate that 302 ford swap in a 240sx.
Fact is presenting that piece of crap carburated V-8 and actually consider buying it shows your lack of knowledge and understanding for engine building. You can't fine tune Forced Induction systems on carburated, it shows lack of power, and boostable numbers.
If it was a 302 EFI set up that would be something different, and something to work with. That specific car on EBAY is a joke, and shows that the guy that did that swap, half assed it. Keep in mind the loser is selling the car on EBAY, not an advertisement that is local like craigslist or autotrader, (he is looking for an idiot to take over his burden).
I admire LS-1's that would be a better idea.

Thanks for that negative rep point too dick head, I felt I represented myself well with facts instead of your garbage thread.....

He may just be a purist..

Yes I am a purist built my first 510 from the ground up when I was 19. It kept up with vettes up until about 140MPH..... I've chosen to call it bad KARMA when swaping Domestic into Imports. I love domestics for what they represent, and I love Imports for what they represent. I don't feel the need to intermingle the 2.

I don't know you or what you do, not that its relevant in any way.

Or maybe I was just bored and floated a idea for discussion?

I admire LS-1's that would be a better idea.

Agreed.

You're welcome, however, I do not feel that I resemble the tip of a penis in any way.

Oh, and my rep stick hit you for way more than -1, FYI.

Bad karma to put a FORD V8 into a JDM......

You call the facts? You basically cried about putting a Ford into "a JDM," and then just made a blanket comment about weight distro, not taking into account that its a purpose built vehicle, that is to say, spin tires, go (relatively) fast in a straight line, and presumably run shitty and break.

I am all out of cheese for your wine, dude.

I lock this now before it becomes the flamefest it is destined to be.
