I have a 5 speed 1991 Fastback with 150,000 on the odometer.
I have some wierd vibrations around 50 to 60 mph and also from 2k to 3k rpm.
Then again, when braking, I get really really bad vibration and the car goes side to side?
Could this just be rotors, or something more?
Thanks

Probably not your rotors because it shakes under circumstances where you are not braking.

1. Simple alignment or wheel balance problems would cause shaking at 50-60
2. T/C rod bushings would cause shaking while accelerating, braking and at certain speeds. (this is probably your problem)

Check your T/C bushings first since it doesn't cost anything to look. If they're shot, replace them.
If your car is near maintainance time, take it in and get the alignment done anyways...cant hurt.

Doesn't look like any of my bushings are shot. They could be better though.
I'll put new rotors in when I re-do my brakes later in the summer.
I had an alignment done 4 months ago, and I get a 6 month warranty if it gets knocked out. The tires were balanced too. I asked the guy to rotate them, but he said that th rears were far too shot to be rotated. I would have to buy new ones. I forgot about that, maybe it is my tires.
I'll have it checked out tomarrow...
Thanks guys

Check to see if you have a steel belt broken on a tire.
