Hey guys, I am bringing a '97 from the States into Canada but to do this I need to make sure that all recalls, if there are any, have been taken care of. Does anyone know of any recalls or where I can find out? Thanks for your help!

I think this one company knows all the recalls for your car. What was their name again? Oh yeah I remember now....

NISSAN!

Seriously though, contact a Nissan dealership and talk to the service department. They keep track of all the recalls.

When I saw this title. I was thinking, "hey wouldn't it be funny to get a recall on a 10 year old car?"

I'd be like WTF?

you should look at dsm 1gen eclipse. My friend owns one and he got a recall like a year ago. his car is a 89. I am like really? apparently he brought it in and it was true. As my Honda freind who preaches about honda would say bout his car.. dumb stupid machines.

All NISSAN vehicles from 89 and up have a Life Time warranty on the factory seat belts...

They MUST be replaced at a NISSAN dealer in order to be warrantied.

:werd: I also work for nissan, and got mine replaced under warranty when they stopped retracting & sliding correctly.

This past fall I got a recall notice on my '97 Expedition for the cruise control unit, which apparently can spontaneously burst into flames, even with the car off. The notice, which suggested not parking near any buildings until the problem was fixed, covered some vehicles as far back as '86 I believe. You can get a recall on a fairly old car if the problem is not very common, but has serious safety concerns. It might take a while before anyone notices a pattern and identifies the problem.
