Which would you choose and why?
Megan Racing , Greddy or SS autochrome?
I have a megan on there right now but it broke in half so im kinda of iffy on there quality , but everything else seems to be top notch if not just one nothc below the top. Greddy Is expensive as hell and i don't wantt o pay twice as much for a name plate. Im not a lable whore. SSautochrome , Heard Some good heard some really bad , don't wanna get fucked around with a flange thats clocked wrong or something thats gonna break again.
Thanks for your input

Well paying for a greddy might solve the problem of the other two cheap ones that would break.

Looks like to me you could have gotten a Greddy for less than two Megans, how sure are you that this won't happen again? And don't bother with SS.

Huh?
You don't buy Greddy because of the name, you buy it because its the best.
HKS, GReddy, Night Pager if it fits. - those are the ones to spring for. Divorced and high quality.
Spending money for non divorced crap is funny, like Tomei and Kazama, especially since they're more expensive than greddy.

iirc some brands' turbo elbow designs rub against something(don't remember, maybe steering rack?) which means they're better suited for rhd cars. someone help me out on this.

divorced means the turbo extension is split into 2 diff pipes. it has a divider pipe inside of it.

The only name brand one WORTH going for is Greddy.
Like it was said before, Tomei and other similar designs are high quality versions of SSAutochrome w/ non-divorced housings and the HKS style twin tube design (of HKS and other copies) doesn't fit on USDM cars.

Turbo Elbow? The intake side or the charge pipe? or are you talking about the o2 housing?
I have the SS manifiold // o2 elbow, ceramicly layered. I have heard horror storys about SS cracking, which hasn't happened to me yet.
I had a downpipe and intake custom bent at a local muffler shop.

I broke my Greddy elbow. Well didnt break it, just cracked it at the bottom of the flange, but enough that I can see light tru it when i took it out. then again, this may have something to do with my exhaust being 2 inches off the ground. Everytime i bottomed out, it put too much pressure on the elbow and the turbo manifold. Also just to show you how well this thing is built, Bout 6 months ago, i bottomed out my exhaust doing over 90mph and I literally broke/sheared all 5 bolts/stud thats holding the elbow to the turbo. Needless to say, I took my whole turbo and manifold off to fix it and the elbow was perfect *atleast back then*

i have a ssautochrome elbow..it was a bitch installing it. but worked fine for me. the only problem i ran into was the o2 sensor shit. my redtop o2 was too small for the bung hole. but i forget which one i'm suppose to get. i hear blacktop o2 sensor(phatty type), or the 87 300zx o2, or the effin 95 300zx o2. anyway. be prepared to run the car without the o2 sensor! haha. it's a fuckin gas guzzler

I've dealt with the SSAutochrome turbine outlet pipe, aka J pipe, aka O2 dump, aka O2 housing, and I've dealt with it on 2 seperate cars.
They came with the little "divider" piece that you can install onto the pipe, that kinda acted like the wall on the S15 turbo's turbine discharge side.
Well, those little divider things, didn't really work. The turbo's internal gate flaps hit it. On 3 different turbos, and 2 different SSAutochrome pipes (well, 1 was Megan Racing, but we all know it's the same exact thing, made in the same factory).
And a couple of the holes were drilled right through the welds, which meant the nuts to hold the thing in place could not sit flush against the flange. Not good for seal.
And the Kazama one, while being expensive as hell, does boast a 76mm outlet. The other one is 70mm.

I have a Greddy elbow on my 89 fastback. Clears everything. Out of curiosity...you guys that are cracking your turbo extensions, are you using factory engine mounts? My guess is that is causing some of your guys problems....and I need to replace mine before they cause me some problems
