well i am looking for a set of wheels that i am gonna use both on the street and auto x, and eventually race.  are there limits on wheel and tire size for racing???  also i am looking at 2 different wheels right now, the kosei k-1 racing wheel and the oz f1 cup, the oz i am sure is much nicer but i dont know if i can afford it, is the kosei a nice wheel, is it strong.  i will be driving on the streets quite a bit and there are many potholes from the winter time....
thanks for the help

I have f1 cup, i love the way they look and havent had any problems w/ em'. I went w/ the 18"8" all the way around. Not that expensive compared to alot of rims out there, but I get compliments cause not too many people have em'. I'm getting rid of my fronts soon and go w/ a smaller wheel up front. Actually the kosei k1 racing anthricite color or whatever they are called look pretty nice and they come in a 7.5 which is still a good width, and you have to consider what kinda limited slip you have or none....

do you have problems with the wheels rubbing on 18's?  what kinda suspension do you have?  im thinking 17 x 7.5 up front and 17 x 8 in the rear.  also how do those center do they fit right on the hub or is it w/ the lug nuts?

Actually they do tend to rub. I have some koni adj. w/ springs. The best bet would to get the 7.5 all around, it'll still serve the same purpose...Just need some good tires and if you have lsd or not. I'm not sure the f1 cups come in a 17*7.5, they have 17*7 then 18*8. The kosei's have a 17*7.5....Do you have a s14? If so go to www.tirerack.com and you can see how your car would look w/ both the kosei's and the f1 cup's, you can't adjust the height though. If you do it just look at the a black 240 w/ the dark grey kosei's they look sexy.

I think the SCCA's limits are 225 tires and 7.5 inch wheels before you get pushed into annother class. Maybe someone like Ace or Lance could be more specific.

one thing to remember, 18 inch rims + 240sx = crappy performance. Rims that big are just for looks, any extra handling that you would get is totally negated by rotational mass of the rim. Personally, I'm going for a 16x8 rim if I can find some that I like.

transient, what tire width are you going to run?

I plan to get 16x7.5 and run 225's

If you plan to go with 17+ read the theory of a rotational mass in the FAQ section of this forum so you can atleast make an informed decision...

yeah i was seriously considering getting 16's but im just not sure. &nbsp;i know i will eventually race my car so 16's would be better for that, but it will prolly be 2 years untill i have my car ready to race and by then i should have enough money for some nice wheels like some ray's engineering wheels. &nbsp;just out of curiosity will the 300zx brakes fit good under 16's? also what offset are you guys running for 7.5's?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>? &nbsp; oh and does anyone have anything good or bad to say about kosei???

lots of questions i know...thanks for all the help so far though.

i don't think the kosei's are the strongest wheel in the world, which is probably why they are light. i've seen one crack just from normal driving, and he had 50 series tires.
