NExt weekend wont work for me -- got my graduation on saturday. then there's a baptism i have to attend on sunday.

I took a run down latigo the night before I left (I'm now happily back in HK drooling over all the Skylines, EVOs and stuff like Audi S3s that we don't get in the states.) --

so happily I drive down latigo... coming up to one corner I realize I'm going a little too fast, so braking early (and relatively hard as you always do up in the hills) I feel ABS kick in through the brake pedal.
As I realize I'm heading straight for the guard rail, I turn almost to full (left) lock on the steering wheel - BUT I'm still going straight forward towards the guardrail! ABS is still pumping away at my brakes, and I'm going nowhere but straight. Suddenly as I get to about 4 feet (I did still have room) the car suddenly regains traction up front, and I shoot around the corner at almost the last minute. ... yes, I was almost another casualty of Latigo!

Thank goodness I realized early I was going into the turn too fast... and fuck FF! I'm sticking to FR from now on, understeer is a killer!

How many cars went up with you guys? How many new faces?

And yea, there were 3 other cars excluding myself. The other people who went were Oscar aka Nismo20det (i think) with his S13 fastback, Kei (Keivmx) with his S14, and Clark from the Socal 240SX forum with his S14.

Alright, finally! Someone who's down for racing the hills and not just cruising. Count me in then, nothing bad in a little friendly race. Maybe MrMigs can go as well, he's a pretty quick driver too. I'll bring my friend with his FC too.

Lets do a lil racing run this time. Gimme directions on how to get to that road. Gotta practice. <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sneaky.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':pissed:'>

haha cool, finally some people to race with. Im usually on this road on mon or sat nights. Well if you guys wanna look the road up or cruise down there when you're free, I know of one way to get there. If you're coming from LA you'll be on the 5 south till you hit Crown Valley (Mission Viejo). Exit and make a right. Continue on crown valley till you hit the end (approx. 6 miles). When you hit the end you should reach a street called Antonio, make another right. At the end of Antonio (another 5 miles) you'll hit Ortega. Make a right and get ready for a pretty fast paced drive. The first 25% are mostly high speed turns. The center section is made up of mid to tight turns, some of them are pretty tough so watch out your first time around. The last 25% is made up of mid-high speed downhill. If you guys are gonna check it out first watch out when you get towards the center, this roads pretty tough and a lot of the turns are misleading since they tighten up at the end (friend smashed his M3 here <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':thumbsup:'> ) If you guys want we could meet up next week on Sat. night and all head down there together.
BTW-All the way through it seems like a 38-48 mile drive that takes about 30 mins to complete each way. Im not sure but approx thats it.
