the car was not stolen though it sounds like it car was left in a old dealership new buyer of the property was going to trash the car but instead he gave it to me car is not stolen

If it was left on someone's property and the property was sold, the owner (guy who gave it to you) is probably going to have to do a lien on it to get a title and then transfer it to you.
