So I was driving my friend back to his house today, (he lives way out in the country) we were on a gravel road going about 45mph. I then noticed that the road curves up ahead, so I slow down to 40mph, but I didn't know that it was a 90 degree turn, and there were no signs saying that the road curved, so I braked, and my car slid off the road straight into a cast-iron fence. lets just say the fence was stronger than my car.:-/ http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b243/boardr/wreck.jpg

Yes my engine bay is blue, I was planning on painting the whole car blue, so I had a friend paint my engine bay before we dropped the engine in. I dont think my frame is damaged, but I haven't got the hood off yet so its kinda hard to tell.

understeer straight into the fence?? that sucks.. eventually after alot of time driving, you will learn you can fight understeer by pulling the ebrake a few times and that will help but you gotta act fast.

I learned that too this winter. I don't know why but I did that once in the same situation and It came that I saved my car from a crash.
Thanks god for my instinct.

I think the frame is o.k. It looks only cosmetic. It's time to get a sileighty or a new bodykit ;)

It looks like the top/front frame is damaged (part right above your wheel).

I am no expert though, that might be considered not a part of the frame, but I thought it was [shrug]

Sorry for your loss dude, but like everybody says, at least you made it out alive.

Learn to use your e-brake in understeer situations. It has saved me a few times like the other people that replied.

Dont give up on it fix it up just be sure there isnt any frame damage if there is then its a 50/50 situation, Either you fix it or sell it for parts, but inspect the damage.

I just love shells, for me its a way to start fresh and improve on everything.

falken07
03-08-2006, 07:19 PM
Hmmm...A new shell might not be a bad idea, but I think it might be a little cheaper to just fix it. but here are some more pics, http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b243/boardr/wreck002.jpg

Actually he said that he thought that this was an easier way to get to his house. He had never really been down that road before. But what pissed me off is that there are no road signs that say there is a turn!!!
