All the parts are from a used option parts store in takamatsu. i am wondering what i should buy and bring over to make the most money, i will probably be selling them on ebay. i know what some will go for, but as for things like coilovers and such they arent sold that often so i have no price to guage by. these prices are in yen, and 125yen=$1 as of now. i have one extra suitcase to bring back...

Advan TC 17x7 with tires

Yes all Silvias and 180sx come with folding mirrors. The roads are small and that is usually where they park. It is very common with the new cars to have folding mirrors unless it is an A car or Mini car.

If you can track down coilovers for the s13 for prices similar the the s14 I will definately take them off your hands I feel almost obligated to help your SR fund

If I were you I would find a section of town that has many tuner shops/junk yards...and look for the following:

Get the S15 Silvia "lightnight bolt" factory shift knobs......I saw one go for $108 on ebay...and you could fit many of those in your suitcase (or other cool looking JDM specific shift knobs) . Also....aftermarket injectors are small and go for alot.

Other stuff to get.....maybe metal head gaskets or timing chains for the SR20 or RB25...or something small like the JUN fender flairs, or the Cwest S13 popup headlight intake. Also, there was a Silvia power/folding mirror switch that went for like $30 on ebay the other day. The folding mirrors sell on ebay all the time, but you never see the switch.

My advice to you....make friends with a US serviceman over there, and pay him a little to send that stuff back through military mail, I think you dont pay customs duties (I think).

Rancid,

Find me some coilovers for cheap too, if you can. '91 180. See what the 180 tails go for there as well. As far as the price goes for the coilovers, I don't really wanna pay more than 20K yen.

Thanks so much!

The US is DVD region 1. You might also pick up some Options and Best Motoring DVD/VCDs/Mags while you're over there. Basically anything you can't find here easily will probably sell pretty well.

I don't mind the Wangan wings. I actually wouldn't mind buying one off ya if you can answer a bit... What are the dimensions? Is it at least 12" wide (not long, but wide) will it stick far off the back or just curl up at the edge of the trunk hatch on a 180? If it is at least 12" wide, and will stick out over the lip of the trunk I will be willing to pay you full price for the wing +$100 (us) extra if you can get me it.

Sorry if this was a bit confusing... got any pics? Oh yeah I'll also pay for good shift knobs and if you cant find the X rear lights, the 180sx light center pannel would appease me.. You can get that at a junkyard and it weighs virtually nothing so shipping wont be much :o)

i have spent many a day riding my bike searching for the junkyard that would have 5 type r steering wheels stacked nicely in a corner, gift wrapped and waiting for me, but alas, my search has returned nearly fruitless. let me say, junkyards are no easy going here in japan,@at least where i am staying. you will find some cars totally stripped, srs with turbos long gone. but then again, like a few days ago, i found a 180sx with a 5zigen catback, nismo speedometer (320kmh) and a perfect sr20det just sitting in it. but prices are ridiculous so far, junkyard wise. i had to pay 6000 yen to get a set of folding mirrors and switch, i expected not to pay that much to say the least. i asked how much for the guage pod with nismo speedo and they said 10000 yen, r32 gtr lights 6000 yen, r32 spoiler 5000 yen. i am going to stick to Up Garage and buy the rest of the parts from there.

i should have known us was region one NTSC. I got a stack of region two NTSC option DVDs and i might have to sell them over here if they wont play in the US.

What do you guys think of picking up misc. turbo/Ex Temp/Etc guages (trust, apexi)?

Also let me tell you guys, 180sx Type X tails and spoilers are impossible to find. i have yet to see a junked type x.

Part of me feels bad asking, so I'm sorry, but I'm going to anyway. Can you find any del Sol sunvisors? The USDM ones blow. I think they're safer though because they don't obscure as much of the windshield, but they're totally ineffective, because unless the sun is in exactly the right spot, they just don't do squat. The JDM ones are a lot nicer.

Send email to [email protected] if you'd like, any time of day, and I'll most likely respond in minutes (that's my pager).

The junkyards are waaaaay on the outskirts of town, at least the good ones are. If you just have you're bike i don't think you're gonna make it out there.

It's not as easy as some people think i feel for you man. You actually have to go out and find the good ones and sometimes prices are not as hot as you wanted. Most of the good junkyards already are connected with exporters/importers and have most of the stuff tucked away for their clients.

Rotary is sooooo right I have to go about 20 miles from my house just to get the good stuff. For the exception of my Brother in laws insurance lot $$$. You have to scrape to find anything. How many of you want to wreck your cars and when you do how many of you want to just let all the good stuff go? Metes, headlights, shift kit, I would take it all. unless you total it then they own it.
