my buddy has a 92 coupe, same as mine, but the blew the engine up... and somebody rear ended his car with sum other kid driving it who didnt have a license... result... about 2k damage and insurance isnt gonna cover sh**! so.. i told him to give me the car... hehehehe... i love 240 trash.. to mess around with it u know.. but now my question is.. his car is a manual.. in the tranny swap do i have to buy the parts from nissan? or can i like.. take the parts from his car... and put them on mine??? because i know his clutch is brand new... and his tranny was pretty good too.. so can i? thank you! later!

in case you're curious... this is how the accident happened.. he lent his 240 to a friend... and he thought it would be fun to race a F-150... so... he was in the front.. with the truck right behind him... he wuz doing about a 100... and he had never raced before.. got too excited and when he shifted down... he shifed down to 2dn gear... (thats his story, dont know if the tranny would let you do dat... but im sticking to what he told me) the revs went all the way up.. quickly.. the car slowed down badly... and when he saw smoke he step on the brake... the truck wuznt expecting dat.. and by that time the 240 was ata bout 30, and the truck hit him. the truck was doing about 85... result... the 240 has no trunk now! we're glad both are ok!

You can DEFINITELY take all of his crap and slap it onto yours. There is no reason why you shouldn't. However, be prepared to do a lot of work.

Good luck!

That's a sweet deal for parts, though.

You can definitely still do it! Everything but some of the rear body and electrical parts is all the same for the coupe and the hatch.

You know what else you can do?

Tell me if his hatch is rusted and if it's damaged and if it isn't, would you sell it to me?

no.. its a pretty good shape.. if you dont mind the fact that there is no rear body... the bumper is where the trunk should be.. so.. let's just say that the bumper and trunk have been "compacted"... i mean.. this car was doing 35 and got rear ended by the truck doing about 85-90, and the truck had one of those big metal things in the front... so... if you still want it... i won't sell it you.. i'll give it to you as soon as im done with my tranny thing! he is going to give me the 240, i wouldnt feel rite making a profit on it... i'd just pass it on to you... buh-bye

I'll take the hatch off your hands if it isn't too damaged or rusted.

Let me know what's the case

What city r u in?

If the truck hit him from the rear then the truck driver's insurance should cover all of your friends damage (liability). Because it is the responsibility of the person in the rear to have control of the situation... or have I been mis-informed?

True that the driver behind would be responsible...if they weren't racing around doing 100mph that is. What would you exactly do to explain? "Well, we were racing at 100, i fucked up my car from the racing and the guy racing me hit me from behind." Ummm, no. I don't think your buddy can do jack about it unless he makes up one very very very clever story and somehow the truck driver follows along....? Bottom line, you're both irrisponsible and now this is the consiquence. By the way, i don't care personally one way or another about the laws involved, i'd like to see your buddy get some bling out of it, i'm just stating the facts. anyways, good luck with the manual swap...its a whole new world for you automatic people....

true... but the kid who was driving the 240 does not have a license.. and the guy in the truck was friendly enough not to call the cops... since there was very little damage on his truck he took 200 bucks from the kid driving the 240 and let it go...
