125,000 miles and my chain's rattling.  It's also posible that my oil pump has gone bad.  I figured out how to replace the top one using a Chilton's guide but I don't have any reference for the lower belt.

I haven't purchased the new chains nor tensioners yet, until I figure out how to replace it properly.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

um... i'm a noob .. but n e way.. i got 152k on mine and the chain's not rattling or n e thing... do you have an estimate on how long i can go before i gotta replace it 'cause i don't know how to do it myself. And i went to a shop and they estimated it to be 17 hours of labor... and they said it'd cost $1500 to do it.... and that's friggin ridiculous... does it really take that long? .. thought i'd ask you while you wait for replies since you seem like you know how to do part of it... not trying to steal ur post or n e thing...

have you done the easy stuff yet?... check your chain guides and oil level. dohc timing chain DIY is on 240sx.org 'install' section i believe. or get a service manual.

edit : btw yes for full replacement it takes a very long time to do and at 80+ dollars an hour that adds up quickly. $1500 isn't the most expensive i've heard. this is something you really want to look into doing yourself if you can.
