Im rebuilding my new SR to stock spec and I want it to be have decent longievity so I went with an OEM head gasket with ARP studs (good for 300 hp ive been told.) FSM says put rtv between th block and head gasket. Im a little leary about it :ugh: If you do use rtv I cant imagine you squirt it all over the block but the manual shows no pics. Anyone?! :x:

NO, DO NOT USE RTV!!! Excess RTV will clog your oil and coolant lines. Go to Kragens/Autozone and look for a Permatex copper headgasket spray.

Dont use a stock headgasket!! I mean why? Its only a little bit more for a metal headgasket which would make your motor completely safe for 400hp. Always overbuild

well ur not suppose to goop the rtv like a all over the place.. just a small very thin coat.. or the spray one is doable....just clean up the excess crap else where..... then where the contact is suppose to be..
