Intake on the turbo

ok well when you get your turbo and all that crap installed and you need an intake now....so what the hell do you put for the intake. can you directly put on a filter or do you need a pipe to connect it to the turbo...anyone wanna explain.

Most use a pipe to get the incoming air source away from the engine.

you can, but it's always best to get the cool air from outside the engine bay.
