i have a 90 s13 w/blktop sr20. problem is that my battery dies overnight. but also i have a fuse remover with a check light on it that shows is the fuse is good, when i check the fuses the light on the removal tool lights up and then dies out. this happens on all fuses with car on or off. im wondering if this is signs of a short?bad alt, or bad battery. it first happened to my optima red top, then i got a die hard bat from sears and it did the same thing again. also when i push my brakes my radio illuminates while car is off. the radio is not ghetto rigged in there. my radio is hooked up to the stock wiring with a harness adaptor. any help would be much appreacited<sp?

What do you mean the light dies out? Your talking about the tool that looks like an awl with the alligator clip on the end of the wire for ground right? That light should stay lit up for as long as you keep the tester on the fuse. Have you checked your fuse box in the engine bay?

yeah the light on the tool goes out. i know that the light is supposed stay on as long as it is on the fuse but it doesnt. i used the fuse tester on my other car and it stays lit. what do i need to check in the engine bay? the alt fuse is good. im stumped. i even opened my harness and rewired my engine bay harness and the dash harness thinking that i might have a loose connection. but it still does it. is the alt supposed to have 2 ground wires on it? mine doesnt, it only has 1. because i found a loose ground wire on the trans harness and grounded it to the body. hope that gives more info

disconnect the ground terminal from the battery, then use a test light to jump the battery neg post to the ground terminal connector. if theres is indeed a drain the light should stay on, to pin point the drain go to the fuse box and pull each fuse out one at a time til the light goes out. whatever that fuse provides power to is where the drain is comming from.
