They also shot me driving, and im still waiting for those vids to be edited.
Here is a vid of when i let ross petty give it a try. He was being conservative with the car because he didnt want to break it.

The bumper fell off because ross hit a cone. The bumper survived to live another day, for now.

Good stuff man, are you going to be representing the FD-LS1 at d1gp? (holy acronyms!)
Somewhat random aside: Does anyone know if there was practice going on at Irwindale on Saturday the 25th? My office is down the street, and I could've sworn I smelled burnt falken's as I was leaving..
can't wait, the weather should be great.

Thats true, but you have to think that at one point they were in the same boat as me, and you have a couple options. You can quit, and just do the sport for fun. Or you can give it your all, do the unexpected, and show your dedication and love for the sport by never giving up. Thus doing so you show everyone in the sport that you are dedicated, and are willing to sacrifice important things in your life just to have a chance to compete. Thus showing love of the sport, and not making it seem that you are just out there to win stuff, or be on tv.

Is it true that you have to have matching engine and chassis by manufacturer? (IE RB25=>nissan 2JZ=>Toyota and LS1=>not RX7 lol)

No that rule is not instated.

Yup, that's the right attitude Luke. Remember some of the guys are still privateers in D1. And they are still looking to compete with the sponsored, regardless if they didn't make it the first time out. :x:

No that rule is not instated.
Good stuff, another guy at the shop here keeps trying to tell me otherwise.
Time to do the :fawkd: dance tomorrow when I prove him wrong
Also, looking awesome Luke! Good luck this season, you deserve the best of it!

hey man, that suck you wont be at D1 I was looking foward to seeing it.
But hey i got a question but please dont take it as me cutting you down as a driver or anything. But if your not sponsord and just doing it too show your competetive edge, why do you have so many sponosord vinal stickers on your car? Even though it makes the car look better you could have gotten off with just a big SD sticker on your car to rep who helped you with the car. In reality if your not sponsord you bought all those parts your self, the company did not help you but you helped the company. But hey its just a question, i respect you 100% and keep doing the damn thing.
blu808
02-28-2006, 09:48 PM
All the stickers on my car are infact sponsors of the car.
I think we should have worded it better. what we meant was that all the Factory Sponsored cars are what we are going up against.

I probably shouldn't answer this question but luke did get helps from sponsors. Especially Hinson Super Cars and Motorsports Dynamics...I am sure he can explain this better, but for a privateer, it is sooooooooo hard to build a car on ur own. Even though most of us pay for everything for our cars, but to build a car like luke's FD, sponsors play important role. Nevertheless, Thanks yall for supporting ShockDrifting and luke, we'll keep u guys updated on future events!

LOL luke i think we replied at the same time..... hahahahahaha

u get my point about the sponsorship deal, the funny thing about it... its not just about building the car.... its the crew men workin on the cars, hauling, setting up paddock.... but eh its all good, gotta pay to play i guess...
i just love goin to the scca pro events, and GM comes out with this fancy rig... with work area tiled, a nice Hostpitality eating area.... workers up to the sky...
and then its us. next to them in our 2 car trailer.. and a BBQ grill..... sweet....

blu808
03-05-2006, 05:53 PM
I spent all my money, maxed out credit cards, and work.
Believe me. This is a way of life to me. I cant even afford gas to go drive around and do shit on my day off which is today. lol
