read it all before making up your mind about anything! here is my plan... i would swap just the tranny, because thats what i want.. a manual tranny instead of auto! i already have a 92 coupe, but auto and i want manual! but there is a big ass list of stuff you gotta buy, if you're just gonna swap the tranny, and you gotta find them separatly, because if you buy it from nissan (only place u'd find them all), it would be very very very over priced! about a grand! if you can find new and used and sum rebuilt stuff you should be able to get it all for about 600-700, but you have to put sooo much work into finding them all! rite now im considering just buying another ka24 with the tranny, ecu, and harness, and with the extra ka24 auto, i can buy another 240sx, with a blown engine, from sumbody who's a little stupid and dont know that much... very cheap.. put it in it and sell it! and get my money back for what i paid for the ka24! or at least part of my money! thats my plan! anybody completely disagrees with me? and thinks im crazy ?!?! or does my plan make sense!??! all constructive criticism is accepted! or if anybody just wants to yell at me and call me stupid thats ok too! hehehehehe!

ok.. you think im messed up in the head.. lets put it in simpler terms...
1- start with 92 coupe (s13, DOHC ka24de, auto)
2- buy ka24de 5spd with tranny, ecu, harness
3- swap my engines (buy additional stuff such as the pedal from a junk yard or sumthing!
4- now i have a 92 coupe (s13, DOHC ka24de, manual) and and and additional engine, ka24de (13, DOHC ka24de, auto)
5- buy 240sx with blown engine or no engine!
6- put the extra ka24de in it...
7- end result: a 92 coupe ka24de manual and an addiotinal working 240sx to sell or keep!

hrmmm....sounds good in theory (like communism)...but i doubt it would work out how you planned it. If you're serious i'd locate everything you need (the manual engine and basically a 240 shell along with all the parts youll need) before you spend a penny

i would just get the parts from nissan, sure their overpriced, but its piece of mind that you have new, clean, OEM parts running inside. But used parts should be great...all depends on the size of the wallet i guess.

how about this, just stick with the auto for now.. buy engine mods that you want... and when you can afford to just get all the manual parts then do the swap. getting another car... and all that mess is way more work than you think..

Sounds good but I would just save up and look for the parts or go get new OEM parts from the dealership. Finding a blown KA is not easy (well sorta) and also finding a 5spd (then again its a '92) <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sigh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> . What would you do if the plan didn't work out? If you were in VA and you tried something like that, you'll get hammered with fines (such as taxes, registration and insurance) which can leave you less than you started with. What would you do about labor? are you doing this yourself?
I dunno sounds good and creative, I thought about getting parts from the dealer to swap my tranny, but I dunno if its really worth it.

finding a 240 with a blown engine is not that hard, besides i wouldnt have to get it right away... i could keep the ka24 in my garage and wait till i can get the 240...
i would only start my project after i have found the manual ka24de... so that wouldnt be a problem... that would be the starting spark... my step father is a mechanic.. since i got the 240 i am also starting to get a taste at mechanics as well... and he and i would be doing all the work... he likes to spend time with me.. he's mad cool.. so that wouldnt be a problem... about the taxes and the state.. we would do everything under the table... the state doesnt need to know that much... i could tell the state i am only swapping my tranny... if needed and that would be it.. im getting a ka24 with less miles... but i never plan to sell the car.. so i wouldnt have to worry about the miles... and by the time I sell it will have prob reached what is in the title. what kind of taxes would i have to pay? does it say on the tittle of the car what kind of a transmission it's got? do i have to tell the state i changed the engine in my car? nahh... i dont think so.. please correct me if im wrong at any of this... but i would have to inform the insurance that i changed my tranny to a manual, my registration doesnt say if the car is manual or auto does it? i have to look at it! i wouldnt register the other car... my step dad has dealer lincence plates i could put on it till i sell it... but at least you made me think about that stuff.. and i mostly didnt! later!!
