Okay with my pimping big tax return I am throwing more money into my pit (read 240sx)
I have two options really when upgrading the stock turbo t2 or t3

Going with t2 I can stay bottom mount and save about 1,300 compared to going topmout and the t3.

t2 really can only flow about 400whp where’s t3 can flow to the hevans (umm 600 maybe more)

Here is my t2 shopping list of parts. (Good till 370whp estimate)
Garrett GT2871R 1,075
Elbow 200
DC manifold 300
total 1,575

Here is my t3 shopping list of parts. (Good till 450whp estimate)
Peakboost manifold
downpipe
dump pipe
Garrett 3071r .63
Combo deal totals at 2,900

What sucks about going bottom mount is that if I ever later on decided I want more power I'll have to topmout and rebuy things.

What sucks about topmount is that it’s mad more strill ($1325) and it dumps to the atmosphere. Dumping to the atmosphere my be kinda bad thing, I have never been in a sr20det where it dumps to the atmosphere, I would think it would be very loud and if a cop ever heard that it would be like asking him to give me a ticket.

I know their are other things to buy to but I am just trying to compare these two things (manifold vs. manifold)
So yeah, what is your guy’s opinion on this...flame away

i personally am going to go the topmount route because there are more pros then cons, plus if i get my turbo polished i get bling points, i am also a little worried about noise though so i will probably re route the wastegate into the downpipe or i could just put a muffler on the dump tube so i vote for topmount!!!

TOPMOUNT! You can still dump into the exhaust system, plus topmount looks pimpin!

in addition to looking pimping... top mounts with equal length runners can flow better and also easier to change turbo gaskets if they blow. you can get bottom/stock mount to vent to atmosphere by welding a flange and extension to it if its your motive. some ppl have welded ext wg flanges to stock sr manifolds or you can buy one from fullrace
