i know this has been asked before.. and i know it because i was here, but i cant find it.. and its time to buy tires... i remember that at the last post sum kumhos were the chosen ones.. anybody remember the name of the model? or any other suggestions?

question #2: since you are here, thought i could add suthing.. what the flock is SoCal?

edit: which one do you guys think is better? considering i live in New England and i plan to slowly and carefully drive my 240 everyday for about 10 minutes to work even under snow!

I think the Dunlops would be better for snow traction (according to their ratings)

SoCal = Southern California

The Kumho Ecsta 712's are excellent tires for the money.  Great wet traction. and Decent dry traction. (better than most touring tires)

I have Kumho Ecsta 712's 235/40/17, them seem to be quite nice. good traction. But i dont have much to compare them to, do its kinda one sided. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

i can compare the 712's to dunlop sport 8000's i liked the 8000's better but the 712's kick ass in the rain and they're not THAT bad and the dunlops didnt have much tread left on them so once the kumho's i have get lower on tread i expect them to be a little bit better

i have the avid v4 on my car and they are pretty good. i like the kuhmo much better though. &nbsp;But i gotta tell you that these avid's dont even wear out that fast. &nbsp;I usually kill my tires in about 10,000 miles but these are still brand new. I drove about 8000 miles on these.
