Alright, so yesterday I removed and stripped everything from my extra subframe. When I removed the bushings they came out (unwillingly) with a metal sleeve around each of them. It is like a cup that sat in the subframe and held the bushing. I will post pics when my roommate sends them to me.
My question is this: Was I supposed to remove the rubber bushing AND the metal sleeve that holds it, or just burn out the rubber and leave the metal sleeve? I will be ordering the SPL alum. soon so thought I should double check first. Don't wanna find out later I fooked it all up.

ahh, thanks just got home to post these pics to see if I could get an anwser back. Good thing too cuz these things were a beotch to get out. How thick are the SPL subframe bushings? Do they seat pretty far back into the subframe? If you notice there are a few dings and dents around the holes where my friend was bullying them out.

Considering the fact that 1st off.. .. SPL gets ALOTTA fuckin love from the individuals on this site, good shit.
2nd, I think it would be wise for sheazy to do some ground research on other bushings before going ballz out into saying "imma get the SPL Alum" and THEN asks; " how thick are the SPL bushings"
just an observation duke.. ..
but I'd gather the SPL's are around the same thickness as energy suspensions bushings, of which I think most of all current bushing applications are derived from. .. .Just my opinion

Take a wheel to the inside and smooth out any imperfections, you'll be fine.

1. I know they get alot of love from everyone here. That is one reason I checked them out. I dont doubt they are the shit...that's why I am getting them instead of someone else, or ebay bushings.
2. I did do ground research, but didn't find any dimensions telling me how thick they are. Once I removed the bushings and saw how tall they, and the sleeves actually are....I was a little concerned. The SPL alum. bushings look like they are about 1/2" thick from the pics I have seen. I just wanted to make sure the dings and dents wouldn't affect how they seat in the subframe.
oh, and I dont have any ES bushings to compare them too, nor would I since they are ployurethane vs. solid alum.
