I am almost positive my heater core hard lines are cracked, i have the dash removed and some ac vents removed but cant figure out how to actually get the heater core out being it is stuck in there somehow. And a sidenote: i saw coolant leaking down the firewall, would you think that is the only problem and i have to just buy a new hose and clamp, or can someone pretty much say that core needs to be swapped and please someone tell me how to take this core out. this is on an sr. I'm also really thinking about just not running the core anymore, because i live in louisiana, but the only thing catching me about it is when im drifting with it, will it getting excessvly hot due to not running the heater core b/c i know it helps reduce heat. this is a sr20 motor set-up.
Also i have searched and i just kept going in circles.

Remove dash.
Remove crossbar.
Remove heater case assembly.
Remove heater core from case.
Installation is the reverse of removal.

Dont need to remove crossbar, just need to loosen some shit up, and finagle the fuck out of it. Take all the vent pipes out to clear things up, held in by like single philips head screws. I had to remove the crossbar from the studs, but that was it.....dont take it out completely.
You dont NEED the heater core, but it would be stupid for you to yard it out. Helps cool to some extent obviously, especially with the blower on high. Moisture and condensation will fog the shite out of your windows and whatnot and warm air takes care of that. Plus on chilly nights, not having heat is the worst thing in the world!
Just get a new one and replace it at this point since your dashboard is already out. They get clogged full of junk, 17 years old, no coolant flushes etc. When you take it out, if it feels heavy.....its garbage.
Do you have any coolant leaking onto carpet, under dash etc?

for now im just going to recirculate the coolant and bypass the core due to work tomorrow. But i have a parts 240 i will try to get off before i take my good 240 apart again. but to answer the question on the coolant. I could have put some real small fish it.

you dont need it for cooling that much. With a koyo and good fans you should be ok. Stock its basically a last resort if your cars overheating and you cant stop and let it cool down.
