how do you guys with a silvia front end wire up your corner lights and turn signals? also how are the lights suppose to be anyways? i found a thread that said it...but i cant seem to find it anymore =(
well i tried wiring up my sidemarkers(amber color) to stay on when i turn on my lights and to blink like the function of the stock front turn signal but....i also sliced a second bulb so the corner clear part would be on like the stock sidemarker that our cars come w/
....but now my electrical goes crazy....when i try turning on my lights and signal or turn on my hazards.... they dont turn on, i hear a sparking sound, a clicking sound, my interior lights flash....:loco:

sound like you are not using a ground some where , instead using the other light wire as a ground.

Here's how mine are wired...
Take the stock 240SX fender sidemarker and plug it directly into the amber part. (It doesn't blink, just stays on when lights are on)
I spliced the "blink" wire and the (-) negative wire from the bumper turn signals and wired that into the clear part. (It only blinks, I put a "hyper white" bluish colored bulb in it).
All my hazards and stuff work. You'll need to get some speaker wire or something to run from the turn signals to the corner lights for the clear part though. You will need to splice a 194 bulb socket to that wire as well. The 194's probably won't fit too well so you will need to cram them into the socket holes on the lights. Or notch out slots to fit them. When splicing the wires you need to do a "mid splice". Strip off the insulation from the center of the wires rather than the tip of the wire, if you get what I mean.
Your signal problem sounds like a relay. I had a similar problem with my passenger low beam allways being on, even if the switch was off. Check the fuses and make sure the bulbs aren't blown too.

I would go down to autozone, or advance...whatever you have in your area and get some actual 14ga. wire. Not just speakerwire.
I can post pics of the way mine are wired up when I get back to my house. I have it so the clear part of the corner lights is my parking light. The amber part of the corner light blinks with my front turn signal. They do not flash alternately though. They flash in unison.
If I remember right....the old USDM bumper lights are now your corner parking lights, and you have to wire in the socket for the blinker that is the amber part. Hopefully yours came with sockets already in there so you dont have to do any cutting, carving, or melting to make them fit. The blinker you need to wire will splice into and share the wire for the front bumper turn signal. You will need to splice into the black (ground) and I believe the other is green/yellow. This is the one to make it flash. If you splice into the other it will just act as a parking light as well.

alright after undoing everything i did....lol i found out it was because of my bulbs for the turn signals....like i looked in the book to find the part number but there were two part numbers....and the one i bought was one filament( dont know if spelld that right lol sound it out) and i went back and bought the double filament and fixed it.... hmm i guess im going to try to do what everyone is doing in that link i posted....splice the green wire from the turn signals into my ground for the sidemarker... =) hopefully it will work this time
on a side note...my middle/fog lights for my silvia front end went off.... like it turn off out of nowhere and wont go back on....i wired it up to the pop up light button inside on the dash....does anyone know if there is another fuse for it besides the light control one in the kick fuse box?
-thanks

I wired in my fogs seperately with it's own fuse/relay....so can't help ya there.

my friend did this on his sil front... everything works good except he has a fast blinker that he kinda hates cus its kinda ricy.... but he was saying something about turn signals, the actual signal to make it blink is the negative ground...

With my silvia front i just spliced the front blinker lights and ran a couple (+/-) wires to the corner blinkers and everything werked fine.
As far as your shorts or acting up stuff, i would double check to make sure no wires are exposed or are grounding out by touching another peice of metal... good luck man

if your friend has a single fast blinker he probably is using an incorrect bulb number as a replacement. Tell him to check all of them again.
