ok i recently had my 92 coupe swapped to a 5 speed by CentralFloridaPerformance . after the first transmission broke, i returned to have a new one put in. this is where my problem begins. as soon as i got it i noticed shaking and a loud scraping as soon as i started the car. 1 month later (today) i am now having problems when i start the car. the sound has become more persistent when at idle and in neutral. sometimes when i start the car it will go to its normal rpm's then stall out completely. sometimes it wont do this but even then the rpm's are still off what they originally were. in the past few days the bigger problem has become when it stalls out when i first crank the engine it wont start after for a few minutes. my new method of starting it is giving it gas while turning the key. what could be the problem? i dont have the time or money to take it back down to CFP but i do have access to a lift.

thanks for whoever can help me out,
justin

I'd say your problem began when the first tranny broke. What went wrong with that one? Did the shop do something to cause it to break? If so they owe you a new tranny installed and all. Now that you are having problems with the second you should get your money back (if you can...you should have taken it back the second it started having problems). Then take it to a different shop, or do it yourself. In either case; unless the problem is the transmission itself (assuming you bought a used one), they are responsible for any problems or damage arising from incorrectly installing the tranny.

If it's the shops fault, just don't take no for an answer.

the first tranny had a shaft bearing break.... there is a fluid leaking from under the car and i know its not engine oil ( front and rear main have been replaced along with a slew of other seals)
