Well Im gonna be taking out my SOHC and putting in the DOHC engine tomorrow, anyone got any info, tips on removing the SOHC and putting in the DOHC. I've been reading up on some posts and saw that I need a dohc ecu, gauge cluster and PS stuf, and that it is easier to remove engine and tranny together. If theres a thread hidden deep in here with pics on how to remove the engine and tranny that would be great lol. Also if there is anything else I need to know, feel free to let me know

sure..heres a few heads up that i made a mistake on. when i was doing a dohc swap.

make sure u dont cut ur wiring harness no matter how much of a bitch it is to get out. your gonna need it TRUST ME
-make sure d/c the slave cylinder line. ( i snapped mine)
make sure to connect the heater hoses b4 u drop the motor in. anything that comes off of the firewall and goes to the block, CONNECT!

also heres a few heads up on what ur gonna need.

dohc ecu
dohc upper wirring harness
dohc throttle cable and throttle body
dohc coil
dohc ps pump and resevoir. (i'm gonna cheat mine with my sohc one)
dohc gauge cluster. ( or just replace the rpm tach with a dohc one..SHORTCUT)

so good luck with that man..have fun..and when shit gets all messed up and you are feeling lazy. then end the day. half ass work = problems in future.

good luck

Started goin at it today, didn't get that much done cuz I got sidetracked painting my rims. Hopefully I can get it done in the next few days.

Done so far :

Took off Hood
Disconnected Harness
Took out the Air box and maf
Removed rad and fan shroud
Disconnected heater hoses
Drained all fluids
Took off clutch fan
Disconnected PS lines
Removed vaccume stuff
Unhooked the throttle cable

Questions: lol

The fuel lines, do I disconnect them from fuel rail?

The tranny (Im planning on taking it out connected to engine) Do I just unbolt the shifter, driveshaft and tranny mount to get this out?

If Im pulling both engine and tranny, do I need to take out the rad support?

Tomorrow I plan on unbolting the motor mounts, and tranny and get it ready to be pulled.

If anyone sees anything Im missing let me know haha

I painted the rims a gun metal because it will go good with the Charcole grey paint on my car and it will make the dish stand out alot more :D
