I took in my car in to the body shop last week...
Anyways, I thought that its would be ready today, but
I need a bumper reinforcement bar to support my headlights or do I?
Is the reinforcement bar necessary or is it just for protection?
Can the front bumper bracket support my headlights, grille and bumper by itself without the reinforcement bar?

Please help me out.

the bumper reinforcement isn't absoutlly necessary, many whaco people take it out (including myself... soon) to safe some weight, but i don't know about s14's.... i got an s13.  bumper reinforcement isn't cheap, it's 250 for the s13's, since mine is gone, i'll just forget it

Thanks for your help... by the way I like how your S13 turned out!
I was just wondering if the bumper bracket is strong enough to hold up all that weight.
I'm really not interested in the protection.
Any one with an S14 know? &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

I was thinking about removing my reinforcement until I was in the car with my friend with a s14a, he barely rolled into the van in front of us at around 5 mph and it did massive damage to the hood, fender, front bumper and radiator supports, all because of the removal of the reinforcement. Needless to say... remove at your own risk, it takes the Nissan safety technology out of the car.

Others w/o a front support are those w/ BIG FMICs.

I think the opinions here are about accurate... you could go w/o it, but you may have to pay later.

Just the thought of crashing @ 100mph w/out it gives me chills....that's how people are smushed by the engine.

Plus, by taking it out you'd always know it was missing and would probably not have as much fun 'cause you'd be worried.

Well I would.

you'll need more than bumper supports for a 100mph crash.. &nbsp;do you pray alot?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

True, but it can't hurt <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Actually i've restricted myself to a reasonable 90mph after my $400 ticket.

even with my intercooler and aftermarket bumper, i left the bar in because i didnt want to take a chance. i actually cut the bumper to fit around it and used a little smaller intercooler to clear the bar.
