Hey guys and girls. I have recently added a S13 tripple beam projector setup to my 92 240sx. I did what everyone said and pluged the 3 prong into the back no tyhe silvia project setup and here's what happens.
When lights are in the "on" position, corners and running lights work, but my low beams do not! If i pull on the level and turn on the high beams, my low beams turn on in a second. Now, i haven't hooked up my high beams or anything which is why I'm confused. . . All my fuses have been checked and everything works. Can anyone tell me what to do? What's going wrong here?

Sounds like you plugged in the wrong 3-pin. You should have an extra pair. Plug the other ones in.

Check it in the following order:
1) Was your high beam and low beam working properly on the pop-up lights? If not, then the problem is the car, not the new lights.
2) Do you know which bulbs are low and which ones are high? The outer ones are low. The middle ones are high. Obviously the two yellow ones are fog.

3) Now that you know that, are you sure it's the low beam that's coming on when you pull the high beam passing switch, or is it just the high beam coming on and you're thinking it's low?
4) Are the bulbs in good shape? Because they are used, sometimes they're burned out or was damaged in shipping. Look in the FAQ forum to see what bulb you need. Also never never touch bulbs with your bare fingers. The oil from your fingers will form hot spots and cause the filament to burn out prematurely. If you do touch it, clean it with denatured alcohol. Wear gloves. Check to see if the bulbs are seated correctly and making good contact with the socket.
5) Are you absolutely sure you plugged it in the right way? It's a 3-prong plug that will only go in one way, but check. Also, see if one prong isn't making good contact.
6) If you're stumped, then you start tracing wires. The 3-prong has negative (-), high beam (+), and low beam (+). The (+) wire goes to the respective bulb, and both bulbs are connected to the (-) wire. If you look at the wiring harness on the light, you should see the (+) wires coming in to each bulb and both bulbs joining at the (-) wire.
If it doesn't look like that, maybe someone wired it up wrong before you got it. You can plug in your old popup light temporarily to see if it's working correctly so you know if it's your car or the new lights.
Good luck with that. Let us know if you're still stumped after going through all that.

There is only one three prong plug it can go into and it has a thick round rubber surround on it. Sounds to me like someone switched up the high beam low beam harness on the back of the lights.
Your corner lights and blinker lights hook up completely seperate from the headlights of course. They should come on in the first turn positon of the lever, then second turn or position will turn on the low beams, which as stated are the outer most lights.
Check your harness and make sure it is like this on the back.

Low beams on the outside are green/black. High are middle and red/black as shown.

Sheazy beat me to it, but that's some good stuff right there. The two black wires join up into one prong. That's your ground.

ok here's what i ended up doing. . . .
There are three prongs on the back of the bulb and 3 female slots on the plug.
meaning . .
l _ l
starting from the left to the right . .
1) drive
2) pass
3) ground
what i did was play around with the wires a little and found that if i pulled out the Pass wire and ground wire then connected them to the bulb, that the low beam light would now work!!!! So, after figuring that out, i am now a little stumped as to the turn signals . . .
I had to cut my previous turn signal plugs, so i just splied the wires and ran them to the orange bulb. But, that only made the ornage run non-stop. Was wondering if anyone knew how to wire those up so they blink? My blinkers actually have stopped working since the install. If i turn the hazards on only the back blink and the front are off. When i click the turn signal, nothing happens. (which i think is because i cut the plugs and when i re-wired them i messed up somehow which causes the blinkers to go into broken mode and won't blink when making a turn.)
Anyway, THANX ALL for all the help. This was one big PITA!!!!!

turn lights work now, but only in the back. Does anyone know what color wires are for the turn signal? Thanx ahead of time.

So your low beam works? Great. What about high beam?
What Silvia signals are you running? The US turn signal has a combination light in the bumper. It comes on with parking, and flashes with the turn signal.
The OEM Silvia has parking on the silver part of the corner lamp, and the amber part of the corner lamp along with the bumper light flash for turn signal.
The US combination has 3 wires going to it. (+) for parking, (+) for signal, and (-). What you need to do is splice the (+) signal and ground wires into the JDM harness.
Left/driver side - go to the 3-wire harness that plugged into the US bumper light. Green with black stripe is turn signal. Black is ground. Connect these 2 wires to the 2-wire harness for the amber part of the corner lamp and bumper lamp. It doesn't matter which way it goes so long as you connect both. Direct current will flow through the bulbs either way.
Right/passenger side - Green with yellow stripe is turn. Same thing. Hook these up to the Silvia signal lights.
For parking, you can just use the harness that plugged into the US fender lamp. It plugs right into the silver part of the Silvia corner lamp.
Your signal wasn't flashing because the flasher relay wasn't detecting resistance in the front bulbs. It thinks there's a broken bulb. Depending upon how you wire up the front bulb, you may need an electronic flasher relay to fix the quick flashing when the relay thinks you have a broken bulb. The Silvia light uses smaller bulbs.
If it flashes too quickly, go to google and search for Libertek flasher relay. Should cost you $40. You wire it up instead of the OEM flasher relay and it will fix the quick flash.
Good luck.
