how much is it worth? I dont see people selling it that much. This guy is willing to include a rb25 motor with the deal but blown headgasket.

o it not me that doing it. IM thinking bout giving up riding my r6 for it. I was planning just to build the rb25 then put that in there. but then is it worth all that trouble. i need to get the rb swap kit from driftfreq.. then get wiring harnes.. rb25 tranny? rb20 bolt on or no?
anyways
here are the specs.
1989 240sx with a 1991 rb20det ceferio motor. CLEAN TITLE
registered till 11/8/06
the car it self has:
JDM r32 guage cluster "Everything works ON IT"
5 lug Big brakes 300zx conversion. with peak performance front hubs.
17x8 mustang wheels dunlup 225/45/r17 frnt. goodyear 245/45/r17 rear
air/fuel, boost, guages
apex turbo timer
manual boost controller. "not hooked up"
6 brand new injector that was ment for the 3000gt vr4. for got how many CC.
ALL of interior pieces, but car is stripped of now.
custom 3 inch from turbo all the way back. with magna flow resgnator. NOT LOUD
Rsr springs
Tokico Shocks
Battery relocated in the back
Front mount intercooler thats not on the car yet
JDM Vlsd
FMIC no brand "brand new"
New timing belt for the rb thats in the car and the rb25
The bad about the car:
It has bonda on the rear trunk because i took off the spoiler.
Rb25det:
The only thing ur gonna need for the rb25 is a new head gasket cause i havn't replaced it, and new piston ring, both is gonan cost about 250 max. The reason why i don't have the piston ring and headgasket is because i put the motor back in hurry.I called it quits and said F*** it and went with stock rb20det swap. I was planning to go all out with the rb25. BUT things didn't work out.
Extra random parts:
alternator
power steering pump
extra lines
ignitor chip for rb20.
ignitors
ignitor harness.
oil pan
Sum extra plumbing
AND sum more other stuff

yeah that may be...but as far as building power i would go with the sr over the rb20 which is hard for me to say cause i'm a big rb person...but i have an sr20 and i have had 91 rb20 gts-t and for my money the sr is more pleasing then the rb20.

r20 = cheaper / higher rev / lighter weight and still the benefit of the iron block
rb25 = more money / $1k just to get it in the chassis / lower rev
sr = plain gay ( its like the b16 swap in a civic = for little boys )
i owned a sr20 for a year blew it up and owned a shitty running rb20 for two years ( only drive it one full season and i love it 100x better than the sr )
if you want my opinion i would get a 20 and with the 2k diff in price between the 20 and 25 get upgrades to eat any stock 25 around
happy rbing

so your justification on why the SR is plain gay is b/c you were irresponsible and blew it after only a year? i think thats user error not the motors problem...

I'm kinda confused, does the car come with an rb20 or rb25? Either way I'll trade an R6 for it; if it was me

it comes already with a r6 installed. but he giving a rb25 on top of that and another rb20 which is blow. I dont have enough room for two motor to sit in my garage. unless someone wants to buy a blow rb20 for dirt cheap, then i'll pick that up too. I gotta see it in the day time to access everything.

sure if it blows up its gay :duh:
i dont where you got that from but what i was trying to say is i owned my car with both motors ( same setup everything else other than motors ) and it was much easier and alot more fun to drive with the RB than the SR so the SR is gay in my opinion
and i wish i never waisted my money buying one from the first place (sr20det that is )
and to each his opinion
what`s yours ?

i agree to each his own, but i feel the SR has more than proved itself, reason why it was used for so long... i admit i've never driven an RB, nor known someone who was competent enough to take care of their own (they rashed on it w/ no care for the motor) so i am not making an opinion on the RB. although i have been seriously thinking about getting an RB25...
i just disagree w/ the SR being gay because (especially to me) the SR has earned its name, and has plenty of potential.... whereas hondas have no place to even be compared to a RWD vehicle... so i took offsense to that too

Those R sUm tYt3 dR1ft0 viDs mAN!
:bowrofl:
If you're gonna talk shit on SRs and then post vids of you "drifting" your RB20 like its so much better, you better be fucking Hariguchi or something, not what i saw in those videos. You drifting and comparing SR to RB20 is like a paraplegic saying that Adidas running shoes are better than Nike. How the fuck would he know, he's incapable of running.
That being said, i don't really like RB20s. But whatever, if you get a car with one in it, put a huge turbo on it and rock out with your dick in your hands. I know this HCR32 4 door is RB20 with big turbo (t3/t4 size) http://gallery.modified.com/media/images/13-410172/gal/_MG_3975.jpg
Its not like nobody uses RB20, but jeeez talk about hard to find support/parts!

Thread reported. It started out with a question on how much the engine costs, not if it's good enough for whatever... Most of you guys who responded are saying the RB20 sucks, but the OP didn't even say what he's using the car for! Does it suck as a daily? No, I don't think so... It gets excellent gas mileage, and it was not really marketed for all you Racer-X, but to be a ""fast" daily." Not all of us are super-cool drifters who want to build our cars for 400whp, so stop assuming it. We don't all do swaps to be racers. This was a straight-forward question about price and you guys turned it into another engine-vs-engine discussion... (Although I do understand, the title of the thread is WAY misleading)...
OP: I wouldn't pay more than $1500 if it includes everything... make sure the RB25 motor isn't stripped, because most of the time when they're "throwing in an engine" it means it was probably used for parts, so the CAS, coils, ignitor, etc might be gone, and they're not fun (and can be expensive) to source and only a handful crossover from the RB20.. (I know because I just sold (and have sold before) something like this). If you don't mind the project with the RB25, go for it anyway...

This thread is 2 years old, the argument had been let go, until some toolshed decided to bump it with the stupidest post I have seen today so far.
