i love the street drift
hella fun
just gotta be cautious
still do mess around ocassional but not like before
too much 'invested' in the car.
not really invested since ill never make the money back
basically dont need the insurance rates up, time in jail or lose the car
so street drift suffer
but mountain drifting is always on the agenda.

I LOVE STREET DRIFTING. I KNOW THIS SOUNDS RETARDED BUT I USED TO IN MY 74 VW BUG. IT'S RETARTED BUT THAT CRAPS ADDICTIVE THATS WHY I GOT ME A 240SX. I ACCASIONALLY GO TO THE KMART AFTER MIDNIGHT TO DRIFT WITH MY FRIENDS

dude. caps lock, really?
It may be fun, but don't do it in an overly stupid manner and bring yourself attention.
I say keep shit in areas where you don't put innocent people in danger.

I'm with Dousan (makes sense since we came up drifting the streets together)... same thing-too much time and money in current car to wad it up, get it impounded, or get arrested. So, yea this isn't Japan, i cut back a whole lot but still go every once and a while. Mountains are a little easier to find deserted, but with ~350hp and grippy wide tyres, sliding around tight bends isn't exactly easy. Mountian drifting was way easier with like... 250hp and 225s on the rear!

WTF kind of question is this, I'd do both but track for sure. You can push harder and not worry about crashing as bad or cops.
So i guess i'm not the only person that do both track and street. To me is easier on the street but is not always safe and not just that but anything could happen. Track drifting is a lot when you think of money but think of the experience you'll get, it wroth the money.

Track I still kick it out occasionally on the street but I have since grown up and hardly ever drift on the street. its not worth it the money wasted on wheels and other car parts if you hit a curb at least if I hit the wall at irwindale I was pushing it and gaining experience but hiting a curb in 1st or 2nd messing around not worth it. I do love to grip in the mountains though but for everyday driving I dont even speed anymore.

I'm not quoting anyone, or on anyones nuts about street drift
I Do enjoy it
I think it holds more strength than just going to the track all the time, you don't have to plan it, you don't have to group up to do it
It's just done. .. .and most of the time in the streets
it flows much more toward the art of the practice over the style cues
On the track it just looks so preassumed. .. .
If you know what you are doing, then structured criticism is fun to throw at the kats out there on the track you are looking at, cause you san say " hey he did this wrong, that wrong"
& know why/ where he messed up
_I love the track tho, just don't have the right competition to make me wanna go right now. .. .(teehee)
_I wanna crash for a reason, not because someone else can't drive

ok.. at the track is where competition is.. its more officially noted. and can be timed or against competitors.
On the street is for driving. esp spirited driving.
I perfer track now since there really isnt much to get accomplished on teh street besides learning, otherwise not much official or documented competition on the street.
I like racing karts around a track, its more competitive and equal as far as racing. On the street, i only have a car, and its illegal.
I dunno, im getting old to even care anymore, street is stupid lol

I've never drifted on the street. I've considered it, but I've never done it. I have no want to destroy my car by impacting an immovable object, and I have no want to spend mod money on a big fine.
I have no problem with anyone who does it in a deserted area. Anyone who does it near people I disapprove of, though. I'd equate it (very) roughly to street racing... there's always that variable that you might hurt someone else.

The first 2 are true. There are HELLA bad drivers at the track. Its nicer than the moutain though because when they bite it its not your problem, no story about a deer . . .You know you all have made that one up to a cop. I myself have driven on the moutain in competition and practice for a long time. I was VERY fast, to fast most will say, and its not worth it. track is the shit.

i choose track over street, i've learned my lesson from all the curbs and im tired of running from cops. Also street isnt fun because there arent places where you can link slides. Its just slide and then turn around, slide and then turn around, and so on. it gets old. you get more of a thrill on the track.

I used to drive on the street like an idiot all the time, speeding or taking turns fast whatever. The first time I drove on the track that all changed, you could just go that much more balls out, faster and safer than anything you can do on the street. Ever since then I've driven quite sane on the street. I still get an occasional speeding ticket but 80mph isn't what it used to be anymore.

I do the street any day going to the track is too expensive and to strict with all there rules, When you F**k around in the street you just gota go to an area that you familiar with and go a really late time.

Just remember:
If you fuck up your car while "playing" on the street, you won't get much sympathy from Zilvians. Everyone will basically tell you, "That's what you get for street racing/drifting/touge/etc."
But if you have an accident on the track, people will often offer help and support. Or at least be sympathetic.
I'm sure alot of you don't give a damn either way. Just some more food for thought. I personally don't approve of playing on Public Streets. I've outgrown that period in my life. Everybody needs to learn their vehicle limitations somewhere, and not everyone has access to a track. Stay safe guys, and don't put anyone else in danger if you can avoid it.
Now as a MOD: KEEP IT OFF THE STREETS, KIDS!
