bumper as plane baggage

bought a bumper from a friend in LA, but i'm too lazy to drive. I was thinking of flying (JetBlue). according to their website, they'll let up to 80 inches (length + width + height) on as baggage for an extra charge. you think they'd let a front bumper on as baggage? 80 inches is the max.

I think you'll have to pay extra since it's an "oversized" item.
