If it gets louder when you rev it's not your injectors. Injectors ticking just gets faster, not louder. Maybe your car is pinging? what kind of gas are you running? Can you tell where the tick is comming from if you have someone rev the engine with the hood open?

If it isn't the timing chain, then it's the valves.

happened to me... you better check the oil level... my car started ticking last night and this mornin when i checked, i there was no oil. 1 quart fixed the problem.... i dunno why my car's drinkin oil though
there's no black smoke comin out of the back.. any reason why it'd be burnin oil?

leaking out somewhere, and getting burned off in the engine bay. if your bay is clean it'll be easy to find, just another reason to keep the car clean.

take off the valve cover and check the timing chain, lifters and cam lobes,
check the gap between the cams and shims, may be worn

hydrolic means no need for valve adjustment like honda enignes.....try runing higher octane......it could be a bent valve from detonation...which occures out of nowhere sumthings

Most likely its due to what boostedS14 said. It seems pretty common.
