I changed my fuel pump today and when I turned on my car. The gas and temperature gauges doesn't work. What problem am I facing here? I noticed there was a black circle trim floating in the gas tank..so I took it out.

Thank you for your time.

Okay, one problem at a time. Unless you touched something else, changing the fuel pump should NOT affect the coolant temperature gauge.

Go get a coolant temperature tester. It's a little wire you stick down the radiator neck to measure coolant temperature. If you can't buy one, any reputable shop should have one. You let the car run and see what the probe tells you. Then go look at the gauge and compare. I think nominal is around 180-200o F or somewhere around there.

If the gauge is wrong, most likely your coolant temperature sender is faulty. It's mounted in-line with the upper radiator hose. You can get a whole new assembly from the dealer for about $50. You can unplug the harness and measure the resistance of the sender to make sure it's faulty. Any reputable shop will be able to do it for you for really cheap.

Temperature senders fail all the time so it's not a big deal. If it's not the sender, then it's somewhere further down the line, like fuses or wiring, or the gauge itself is busted. So you'll have to go on from there and trace the wiring. Get an FSM and go to it.

But I'm 99% sure it's the sender. Your engine will heat up fine but the gauge still doesn't show anything.

Take care of that first and see if that's the problem. Should only cost you 15 minutes to diagnose a faulty temp sender. That's about $20 if you paid somebody.

for the gas gauge, it's possilbe the float caght on something and is just stuck, drop the gas tank and pull it out if it comes out easu pop it back in, and check fuses.

worse case scenario, your dash is broken and you go to the junkyard to buy a new one for 20-50 bucks
