8 guage should be perfect for it I have a 325watt amp and I need 4 guage to power that sucker w/o it over heating every 2 minutes. Also depends on brand. Some bobs brand amps that say 300watts really push probably about 60 heh sucks yea. Sony MTX Infinity Coustic etc are all good ones for actual power.

R u actually running a SR? If not stop your name is a lie...
U cannot damage an amp by using too large power cable, the bigger the better. If the cabling is too light and your batt fuse is to large then u will possibly burn down your ride.
I'm using 4 gauge for 1400 watts RMS so 8 gauge for ~300 is fine. go to www.the12volt.com and check the chart. It really depends on the draw, wich is based on design; check manufacurers specs on the amp to find the max draw.
How 'bout that name?

Even if he had an SR, what's the likeliness that he has a 2.4L SR. Anyways, why does someone's name have to be true?? People can dream and be called what they want. A lot of people should have the name "MyCarIsSlowAsHairyBalls", but that wouldn't be any fun.
8- gauge wiring won't fry the amp, but you might not get enough power to handle some peak amp loads (although 8-gauge isn't all that small). In any case, at the most you'll burn out the fuse before you burn out the wire or the amp, but I think you'll be fine.

is there a difference between putting an Silvia or GT-R badge on a KA 240 (A.K.A: RICE) and doing the same for your username? I think not.

Is there a difference between the chassis and suspension of a Silvia or 240sx??? I think not.

Actually, i think my response gave him all the info he needed and it was a simple question.
Ace, i'm not really sure what suspension has to do w/ his name...
If you are hooked up w/ an sr then i'm jealous of you and my appologies, I just watched 240sx.org go down the drain over the last year and hope it doesn't happen here.
