I just got a cool job finally. Now the last couple days i have worked 12 hours a day. Im not allowed to sit down, and i have to deal with pissed off customers. Then the other workers are stupid. I got in a fight today with a mechanic who thought i was a lieing pos because he thought that a 97 supra turbo only came as a single turbo, and i politly told him that they only came as twins. WTF.
Then i get home after making hella money, and all i can do is lay there, and go to sleep. Because work drained the life out of me. Also i only have one day a week off. WTF? 12 hours a day for 6 days a week?
What good is making money? If making money makes your life suck? :faint:

Hahahaha I take it you're not working at Andys Auto Sport...wellll the angry customers but getting in fights with other employees? Anyway, where did you land a job?
Can't believe you actually got your resume to them in time....that's something to celebrate! :w00t:

Have you ever worked a day in your life before?
Seriously, this is the most whinney thread I've ever heard about having a job. I mean it's Ok to rant about your job. But this is rediculous.
BTW that schedule probably sounds nice to some people(not myself though). you have it sooooo hard.

You know from the beginning of your post I could have sworn you were working in retail management! You'll get used to it and you will def. value your time off more...you should try doing that schedule w/a family(if you don't already have one)and an itch for modifing(sp?) cars, though from your projects that I've seen you def. have more than an itch...gl

Also i only have one day a week off. WTF? 12 hours a day for 6 days a week?
I do 10 hours(at least) a day, 6 days a week. I've been doing it for 18 months. When I get home.. I don't wanna do SHIT but play COD2 and HL2. On top of that I'm starting another business..which is gonna keep me busy when I get home.
But who can argue with good money? :wackit:

money isn't everything
When you're single you can work like that. When you get married, and you expect to keep your wife, that all changes. I was a workaholic before I got married. Now that I'm married I work 7-5, get home and maybe 3-4 days out of the week spend about an hour on side work.

But then bills and crap kick your ballsac, and have to resume working.

It does suck...if you have a job thats punch in, punch out kinda shit.
I worked for AT&T...could take off any days I wanted, show up when I wanted, leave when I wanted, etc.
But whats even better than that is unemployment...if my checks never ran out I would seriously never fucking go back to work. :rawk:

a had a photographer from the Marin I.J. come by while i was doing some work on the bowsprit of the boat. They took pictures of me for like 10 minutes, while i worked away and joked around. Maybe I'll get in the paper. Anyways, the moral of the story is i don't deal with angry customers and that you should drink away your workplace angst. Also somebody else wanted to take my picture while i was working on some hatches earlier, dunno why, but i must be popular to take pictures off =\

Ok maybe i should have specified. The only reason why i feel i will get burnt out on this job, is because its retail, im not allowed to sit down, and all i do is sell tires and brakes to old ladies.
I was hired as an ass manager at wheel works. The pay is decent, but i feel i will get burnt out. When i applied i was told with my exp i would land a job at corporate making 60k + a year. now im making half of that just to take 12 hours a day away from what i love, working on performance cars. Im not complaining. i took this job, and will work my ass off for them,
The only thing i was asking is if other people that have been in this industry for years hate their life because of it.

Yeah I am a manager at state wide chain bakery/cafe and am on my feet al day as well, and since I have been a manager I hate it even more. You go out of your way for people jsut to have them give you an attuitued (sp i'm tried from working) . THe only thing that gets me buy is thinking about the money I make from my job and what new car parts I can get with it. That the sometimes there are interesting people to talk about cars or keep it trill with.

Yeah man, it sucks makin hella money haha. Congrats on the job.
I hear ya tho, I work 6 days a week, 10-16 hours a day. Doesn't leave much room for a life, but hella money! lol. The biggest drawback for me is those saturdays when there's a show, I gotta get out to the show from start to finish to film it.

I used to work at Starshmucks. I know how you feel. I would bust my ass all day for not so good wages and still have to deal with pissed off customers. Then you are stuck with your retard co-workers who do their best to make more work for you. I did get burnt out. Stick with it for a while and take the money. Go find something else after a while.
My new job? I am at work right now and I just finished watching Day of the Dead and eating cookies. No, really, I am 100% serious. I get paid hella more than I ever got at Fourbuck's! hahahahha

Just remember, there's always worse things.
You could be gay, wearing purple and pink boxers in a prison full of horny convicts who want nothing more than to bend your fruity ass over the bunk.
BTW, yes, I am drunk so please excuse me if this was an offensive post.
Look for the positive things in your job, and capitalize off them.

HaHa I knew it!!! Seriously, I've been doing it for almost 13yrs and I'm tired of it(Salaried manager for the past 5yrs)...so tired of it that I'm going to go back to school to become and EMT/Firefighter just so I can spend more time doing the things I love(Family>everything else)and to do something worthwhile...However if its something that will make you happy in the long run(the corporate job) then stick w/it. Just know that when you get into in office setting you have people that have more time to hassle you, and they wont be cust. Good Luck

I hate my job as well. Working at costco, and everyone whos been there for more than a year has some type of back problem. Mine is starting to hurt too. What sucks is you stop living, its just wake up, go to work, come back home and enjoy 4 hours of laying on the floor writhing in backpain only to go to sleep and work the day after.
The thing that seriously sucks is that its actually making me NOT fix up my car. When I worked at the mall or some easy job, I'd just blow the money cause it was easy to get. This job, its blood sweat and tears, and spending it on JDM stuff makes me sort of feel sick.... anyways, everyone is in the same boat.
