Hi guys

I got to choose between too.

Tein Basic Coilover and Nismo Stune suspension set.

I've used Nismo Stune for a year and just loved it.

I guess there's some underestimating about those but I think it's great.

I drive it heavily daily especially on highway, also I go to road course track once a month.

Now, I have one more choice of Tein Basic Coilover.

So, for once a month track(GRIP DRIVING) and lots of daily, what would you guys pick?

One thing bothers me about Tein Basic Coilover is that I believe it doesn't really have sportsdriving mind in it.

I have the opportunity to get nismo coilovers with my discount at nissan for pretty cheap for my s13, how much lower did you go?

Not many people on this forum have used Nismo's coilover system. IIRC, they're not adjustable. They source their stuff out too.

Tein basic is only marketed as their entry-level coilover, they have better stuff. For that price, there are better coilovers. Search around for reviews, I'm sure you'll see something you like, if not another 2 to choose between

nismo is made by KYB, which is a pretty decent company

whats the discounted price? because there are a number of good options for ~$1K, Megan, KTS, perhaps even Stance

Oops little misunderstanding there..

Somehow I have two of them on hand..

It's not the matter of price...

Just "better" one on street and also on track for gripping

These days for the price of Tein Basic or the Nismos you can get a entry level setup like Megan Racing, which already comes with pillowball mounts, good spring rates, dual adjustment, and adjustable shocks.

No and No. Listen to logan.

Better yet save some money and get coilovers you won't regret buying ever. Like zeal. :D

You can always find decent used coils. Right now somebody is selling some Kei Office XTs for only 550 shipped. Go for it.

I'll second that. You can get something better. Not to rain on your party or anything

get the nismo setup if you like a well balanced setup that won't beat you up and has had tons of R&D and testing.

yea, some of the nismo stuff is outsourced, but it doesnt mean there isnt handling, comfort and performance targets..

tein basics seem like a decent setup for the money, but with coilovers, I would reccommend stepping up to coilovers with spring preload and height adjustment.

OEM stuff definately isn't made for all out handling (with the exception of R-tune stuff) but like the person said above, everything OEM goes through lots of testing for durability and balance between performance and comfort.

Other options are definately more performance oriented but have a trade-off of daily drivability.
