I just wondering if they really help to increase horsepower?

I also read some article about this kind of products from the magazine like Import Tuner and Turbo Magazine... They claimed that the product like Turbonator can increase like 10hp...

Any idea?

Probably not worth it. From what I understand, ram air systems can almost give you 1 psi of boost at speed. I wouldn't waste my money even if it is dirt cheap.

Eh all that is bullshit. Sure there are some videos where a leafblower was attached to a civic si and ended up increasing hp by 30hp...but thats a 200mph 6hp leafblower. 1psi is nothing and you'd be better off paying a midget to blow into your air filter instead of buyer that "super charger".

As for the Turbonator, a friend of mine was stupid enough to buy it. It DID increase his gas mileage by about 15-20 miles on a full tank, there was absolutely no power gain. Go figure.

another beaten to death topic.................(although I'd take another 15-20 hp on a tank thats nothin to laugh at)

I've seen the video of the guys hooking a leaf blower up to some toyota truck or something, it boosts the hp by 35, then they open a bottle of nitrous by the leaf blower intake and it goes to like 80 hp gain.

well, considering N/A cars run vaccum (less than 1atm) because that's the way they work, 1 psi would actually help. That would mean the motor's running at 0boost, which is somewhat pressurizing the air going into the engine to the atmospheric pressure outside. 1 psi would actually help, that is.... if it's not rediculously overpriced. but then it runs into problems at higher rpm's, so... not really worth it. go big or go home

It wouldn't help at all. Although 1 psi sounds like something, its all relative. Its not how much pressure you can build in an intake system, its the quantity of air that you can move through it and into the cylinders. 1 psi = inconclusive. You have to ask yourself 1 psi on what engine? It will obviously take more energy to charge the intake side of a 8 liter dodge viper with 1 psi, than it would to charge the intake side of a 240sx. Also, at high RPMs where Na motors suck more air in than the electric turbo can provide, it would become an impediment and actually hinder gains.

Depends is that 1psi through a straw or 1 psi through a 3"tube there is a big difference.
My compressor nail gun takes upto 12bars, through a tiny hose, would it do shit for my car....Hell NO!!!

I can blow 3.5 PSI into my autometer boost gauge

but who KNOWS what that actually is haha...it IS autometer...
