Ok, more issues. So i got my tial bov installed today. i strap it on and see how it goes. after about 15min of idling with sporadic reving i gave her some good revs. on the last rev the bov spit up a little bit of oil. i know thats not supposed to happen. also we noticed that the exhaust had blackish smoke comig from it. what the hell is going on?

i know the black smoke was from it being way too rich, SR20 or KA-T? if its a KA-T did you set your SAFC for the BOV?

Ok...logically...
Where would the oil come from?
We'll start at the intake.
Filter: no oil there, unless you put waaaay to much k/n oil on it.
Maf: No oil should be here
Maf to turbo intake pipe: You should have the crankase vent recuirc blocked off, you may be recuicing oil from the crankcase into the intake if you do not have a proper oil catch can/blown rings.
Turbo: Im going to put my chips on black (turbo), and say that the centre cartridge has left the building and is now spitting oil into the compressor side i/c pipe, and out the tial.
BOV:Slightest possibility that once again, bad catchcan/rings settup is sending oil into the vacum system (incredibly unlikely) and draining into the pos-pressure side of the bov. (once again the MOST UNLIKELY occurance).
This should sum it up.
Check the catch recuic to the intake for oil, if posible REMOVE IT, plug the intake so you do not take in un-metered air, and filter/vent the crank case.
After this, remove the intake to the turbo, you should see oil in the inlet of the compressor, if not (??????), clean w/carb cleaner (or apropriate), and drive the car again w/ the recuir pluged up.
More oil?
Call me for a turbo rebuild... (or if you just want to rap about what could be wrong with the car).

this might sound retarted so bear with me. i dont have a catch can on the car, from what i know. i also am pretty sure the bov is not recirculated. actually im sure its not cause i myself did not attach any hoses anywhere.

hmm... i just started my motor for the first time today (s13 blacktop) and i had some oil shoot out of my bov....but it was dirty oil... i put in new oil after i got it...could it just be that my motor had been sitting there and some how oil got in?
