im just curious, was surfing ebay and came across a set of s15 hid headlights with the "dimmer switch" which looked like it had 4 settings. does this mean that the there are two settings in between high beam and low beam?

It's an aiming switch, not a dimmer.

so you can control where the beam is aimed?

UK spec S14s have it as well, I've got it fully wired on my car. Since the high/low beams are independant there's a stepping motor on the adjustment side of the lowbeam that raises/lowers it, just as you would manually to aim them. A 4position switch in the dash controls it. Damn nice to have, allows me to set the aim low due to running HIDs and still set the highbeams where I need them, then raise the lows up higher on darker roads.

Ignore the top pics, those were for an FA spread on offsets/wheel sizes.

Why the TCS button?

TCS is traction control. I've never seen AWD vehicles with TCS.

The TCS is not functioning yet, and may never. I've got a guy in the UK sending me a RaceLogic system to try out, but I went ahead and put the switch in because it's inset into the same panel as the auto lamp control knob that is wired in and functional. The two switches have different depths and it looked silly with just the single switch flush mounted in and one horizontal switch above it.

So that requires UK spec head lights too though right?

As said its std on UK cars and very handy, Its mainly there so you can adjust the aim based on person load in the car.
What other toys have you got RDM.
P.S. UK or europe world certainly have the motors.

My Evo 9 has the same kind of switch for my HID's. It goes from 0-10. 0 being the highest. Real handy little option.

*Begin threadjack*
JDM folding mirrors with UK heated glass (controlled by a modified Z32 switch) , heated seat switches, pads, and wiring from a 99 Q45, JDM digital climate control and business card holder, Q45 courtesy lights flush mounted in the door panels, G20 power trunk/fuel door release switch mounted in driver's door, S13 footwell lighting and glovebox lighting, UK spec Apillar handles on each side (awaiting another bracket to do the passenger), various other useless bits. It may never see the road but it's pretty damn luxurious sitting in the back lot of my shop.
*End threadjack*
UK lights come with the motor in most cases unless it's ordered without. Alot like US lights they can be ordered complete (bulbs, harness, seals, etc) or just as bare housings.

Get German glass units. The UK spec lights are designed for RHD vehicles.
