OK guys,

I'm still a newbie here, so please forgive me if this question is stupid. I'm in the process of changing out my cracked dash (on my S13) to a newer one, and I had to stop because I couldn't remove the trim around the instument cluster (the one with the vents, hazard light buttons, etc). I played around with the steering column height, and it wouldn't come out in any way. I took apart my steering column too, but basically the lever that is used to adjust the steering column height gets in the way always. How did you guys remove this piece?

like he said, drop the column. 4 bolts/nuts and it drops right out, then you can remove it. or you could force it and hope it bends and doesnt break. but thats just stupid...
